Are you going to remember?

Personally I'm just going to wear the mask I made around today and see what happens.

I might make a mask and quote a little. But I will make it a point to watch the movie.

Celebrates the day that revolutionary Guy Fawkes tried to blow up Parliament with a huge store of gunpowder.

I will not be doing anything like that, instead I'll be stood around a large fire, watching fireworks and eating toffee.

I don't really care about that. But it is one of my friends' birthdays, and he is a regular patron of GFD celebrations.

Sorry but who the hell is Guy Fawkes?
Either way it has to do with something about my B-day :)

I saw the local park's fireworks display from my flat. I usually go, this is the third year I've been in the city I live in and it's the first time I haven't actually been to the bonfire our council puts on in the local park. However, my flat this year is right opposite the park so I could see the fireworks through the trees (which actually made it look nicer, as if the trees themselves were sparkling). No point in standing in the cold in a crowd of hundreds of people, all squashed together, when I can get just as good a view in the warm from my open kitchen window, right?

I didn't do anything. Last year though, I bought a mask and walked around the city for a bit in order to attract some staring. Anonymous uses those masks in protests anyway, so it's been put to good use since then. Didn't take it out this year, since I had something on.

Two options for watching it, and zero options for reading it?

I can't think of anything clever to add, but for shame.

A Facebook update isn't "nothing", but that's all I did yesterday in honour of a long-dead, would-be political terrorist. I might watch a V for Vendetta clip or two on YouTube, but that'd be it.

Well, it is pretty much a UK only day, though I think a very small few countries aside from us Brits also celebrate it (mainly places like Canada that had large numbers of British settlers who brought the celebration with them years ago).

Remember, remember, the fifth of November,
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I know of no reason why the Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot...

Some time ago, some dude named Guy Fawkes use kegs of gunpowder to blow up British Parliment, and it was suppose to turn into a holiday, but people don't remember it anymore. The song goes as thus:

"Remember, Remember,
the 5th of November,
the gunpowder treason and plot.

I see no reason, why gunpowder traeson,
should ever be forgot."
