The times I have played, I have picked the NCR, but I guess it's all down to preference.

(and whether you feel like a badass or not)

Me me, instead of a game character me?

Of the two factions I'd join, help, or promote the NCR.

The reason is simple: the chances of the average citizen under NCR rule has a significantly smaller chance of dying from hunger, thirst, decapitation, forced labour and the likes than under Legion rule.

Sure, NCR is hardly perfect. But at least they try and where they do succeed the average guy on the street is better off than in comparison to the Legion.

Not to mention of the two the NCR might actually survive as an organization beyond the next decade or two.

So, the greatest good to the largest amount of people for the longest amount of time. Thus, NCR over Legion any day.

Y'know I thought I would be choosing the NCR on my first play through as I am a fierce devotee to the first 2 games but the NCR are assholes, So I pick the legion.

I picked Caeser's Legion, because they were a LOT easier to get a long with then the NCR was.
So long as you're not a woman or a non-white person with a 8th grader's haircut.

Gonna have to go with NCR. You can't argue with that kind of influence.

Ranked from most good to most evil:
Independent/Yes Man.
NCR.
Mr. House.
Caesar's legion. (Little to no redeeming qualities)

I'd go with NCR, at least they're trying to improve things.

Caesar's Legion is just too evil for me, first time I encountered them was in Nipton, and seeing the crucifixes just made me mad, so I gunned them from then on. Plus, Boone hates the Legion, and I do not want to get on his bad side.

As for Mr. House...

Mr. House got me shot in the head because he decided to start using his robots with an operating system that couldn't use the freaking rocket launchers and grenade launchers that said robots were built with!

I usually end up playing against the legion. They're dicks. I stormed into their main camp once, with that one sniper companion and ED-E as companions, armed both with anti-materiel rifles, and killed everyone. Not that it affected the world in any way though...
I'm fighting with Boone and ED-E too!!!! But I'm having trouble getting past the soldiers near Caeslar's tent...and his tent
I had this trait witch made all animals(not monsters though) friends with me. helps a ton.

If it was real I would most likely end up siding with Yes Man and trying to make Vegas independent, I don't really think either of the factions is that great. If you force me to choose, I'd go NCR over the Legion.

I know i would never feel right around people treating other humans as animals. Caesar's Legion is out from the start.

I'd totally help House though, if not for the dick move that was
killing the Brotherhood. What the hell, can't i just solve it through diplomacy like House ALREADY DID with NCR and the factions? If he can convince some fucking tribals to start being nobles, he can convince a bunch of intellectual bullheads to accept him.
I was the exact same. I supported Mr. House and then after that I was tempted to turn on him, but then I realised that the NCR wouldn't accept me and like Hell I was going to the Legion. I also didn't want to rule Vegas so Yes Man was out of the question.

I'm surprised that he isn't in this thread. Afterall, he's the only one with achievable and managable ideals which can become manifest. The NCR spreads itself too thin and because of that can barely help it's citizens. It also taxes people when they have next to nothing. The Legion want a nation of slavery. Mr. House wants a plutocracy (I think that's the correct term...) and can achieve it because of his experience and years of experience and planning. Afterall, he not only saved, but rebuilt New Vegas when and after the bombs dropped.

Would you rather have no robots or robots well-able to handle themselves when not running at full capacity?

Caesar's Legion were actually much more efficient and civilised than NCR occupation.
Brutal, but civilised.

i preffer the NCR because the Legion forces are much dummer and fun to kill. i go to the fort with my sweet remnant armor and fast firing minigun and they just keep coming to punch me. what retards.

with NCR on the other hand they shoot you and you need more effort to loot 'em

not to mention, there are so many quests for the NCR, its like the game WANTS you to side with them

personally i have no problem with slavery, killing and crusifiction, but NCR just seems like a much better faction for the courier, they are much more chilled and easy going. in Legion everyone is so serious bussiness.

although that ***** that gives you the orders for what to do in the end as a part of the NCR was really pissing me off, and you could only say yes ma'am to her in the end. i'm not taking orders from anybody <_<

What annoyed me slightly about the choice you make is that dialogue options to ask Mr House about his motivations or intentions don't appear till AFTER you align yourself with him. I brought the platinum chip to him, but he really didn't explain what you were after so I helped the NCR. Better the devil you know I figured.

Its only after I loaded up my quicksave after I'd wiped him that I heard what he had to say, how he wanted a benevolent plutocracy working co-operatively with the NCR as essentially an semi allied nation state. I actually had a lot of sympathy with his goals, but wasn't going to support him before I knew what they were, so because I despise meta-gaming I killed him again.
