Poll: The best 'Call of Duty' game..

I was planning on making this thread after the franchise ended, but I honestly think there will be more games than poll options by the time it ends.

I have never played the first three game of the franchise, but I'll vote for the original Modern Warfare. It had the single-player awesomeness of MW2 without the terrible multiplayer.

Call of Duty 2 for me. COD4 was good but nothing has topped COD2's campagin and multiplayer for me.

The only Call of Duty game I have ever played was Modern Warfare 2. So it is both my favourite and least favourite.

Gonna have to go with the original Call of Duty(and by extension, the United Offensive expansion pack.). Great campaign, great multiplayer(RO SnD!!) and was made even better by the expansion(Damn I want base assault back). Anyone remember the mission as the Russians where you had to charge, and if you took one step backwards, you were labeled a traitor and a coward and killed by your own men? Awesome.

I have a feeling most will be voting CoD4 because their experience with the series starts there.

You can't really vote correctly unless you've played them all.

COD 2 campaign did it for me.
Memorable characters to this day.

The MP was balanced, the maps were awesome.

COD 2's campaign was my favorite. I think that multiplayer is a side feature so I judge my favorites based on campaign. But even if I was judging by multi than I still liked COD 2's multiplayer better than the rest of the series.

I love how there's no votes for Cod 3. Probably because it never happened, just like Halo:ODST, and every Rocky after the second one.
OT: Even though Cod4 was my first real online multiplayer game, I'd have to go with Cod2. Mostly because, even though the WWII plot was the same as many others, it somehow felt different. Also, I still remember the times when I had friends over and we'd have 4 person sniper wars on the smallest map. (el alamein I believe) And then there was that time when me and 2 of my friends were playing against my cousin and he killed one of us with a smoke grenade across the map. I probably had my best memories for a Cod game in the 2nd one.

2nd place would definitely be Cod4 though.

i bought call of duty 2 off of steam recently. it is SHITTINGLY good. like, seriously, i'm unsure whether it tops the original modern warfare or not. i think 2 has the better settings and more nonstop action. it's got fog filled battlefields, orchards, and hills filled with dead trees and iswear to god, i took out like five tanks by running right up to their face and then running away. i especially love that level where all you do is retreat for the entire mission. 4 however has a better story, better weapons, somewhat more varied campaign, ghillies!, and THAT ONE MOMENT, y'all know what im talking about. for the poll though, i put 2 because i figured it would be a bit underrepresented. guess i was wrong!

CoD 1. I liked it because it just was so "original" and started up the series with a bang. I wish you still could switch between firing modes for guns. Most guns that is 3-shot burst, can go single shot or fully auto.

Sadly, and somewhat disturbingly, I have a feeling Mr. Kotick is going to end up a lot like:

Actually, now that I think about it, I never played the multiplayer, that's how much I liked the campaign.

Been a Call of Duty fan from the START (and I mean START, I got the first one on launch day lol) and CoD4 is the best IMO. This might be a bit biased because I was horrible at all of the ones before 4 because I was playing on my shitty PC. I didn't realize it was the lag holding me back, I just thought I wasn't as good as everyone else. But I still played every day because I loved the game so much. Then I got CoD4 for my xbox and everyone had the same rig, no hardware advantages across the board... holy shit I remember that day. All that skill I thought I didn't have got unleashed on those poor souls XD It was madness.

...So yes, CoD4 is the best =)
