I voted "I'm a vegetarian and know how to make some non-meat protein source taste even better", even though I don't give a rat's arse how meat tastes, or indeed how my 'non-meat protein source' tastes. Taste is overrated.
If you want a good chili, you gotta cook it yourself.
Also, we gonna put compound meats in there.

I don't care what they are made of, they are damn tasty.
Some meat is just better because it is spiced right. Italian Sausage is oh so tasty. Then you got pork spare ribs. I'd walk across a decent sized state for some good pork spare ribs. A good cut of steak is hard to pass up.

If it wasn't obvious, I'm not insulting anyone here who likes steak or burgers as I am one of them. I was just joking.
Where's all the fish and poultry, in fact I'm not sure if pork is a white meat... if it's not you've a collection of the most unhealthy (largest contributor of saturated fats) and useless (as in they contain only iron the rest is just trace amounts) meats listed in the poll.
If we're going on taste alone then prosciutto, however, I would define best as something that is not only tasty but versatile in that it can go with most anything and healthy. Which of course goes to chicken.

That said, I completely agree with you, steak is the best meat, with sausage or chicken a close second and third respectively. ( bacon is great too, but if we're talking pig, I have to go with a good breakfast sausage over bacon)
