I've never heard of Toph or Rainbow Dash, so I assume they must be some sort of anime cartoon. Annnd, since I'd rather pour bleach in my eyes than watch 90% of existing anime. . .

Freakazoid, I've heard of, ( and what I've heard is that it was awesome) but again, I haven't actually seen it.

Felix the Cat and Samarai Jack are good choices for inclusion on the list, but I didn't vote for them.

Darkwing Duck was good, but not good enough.

So, I voted for the original rabbit of Awesome- Bugs Bunny.

On a side note, the list has three spots open if you discard whatever Toph and Rainbow Dash were, as well as Darkwing Duck. The cartoons deserving of those spots would be Pinky and the Brain ( Realizing that they are two characters, but they are virtually never apart so I think it's fair to consider them as one) , The Tick, and Tex Avery.

Other considerations should have gone to Ren & Stimpy, The Warner Bros and Dot, Batman the Animated Series, and a whole slew of newer cartoon characters including most of Family Guy, The Simpsons, Venture Bros, Harvey Birdman, Space Ghost, Aqua Teen, and as I've been told, but not seen- Archer.

In short, fan of cartons that I am, I find the idea that two cartoons are included on the list that I've never even heard of, is telling of an uninspired list.

The saving grace is Bugs Bunny, who should be on everyones list of awesome fictional characters, let alone just cartoons.

P.S. I know that I've left some great cartoons out of my shoutouts, but the point was to establish a core group of classic and new, that outdistance the list, rather than specifically mention every great cartoon character.
Oh, and Tex Avery WAS A FREAKING PERSON! Only the MOST important cartoonist that ever lived and the one that inspired us all, and also one of the fathers of Bugs Bunny... so yes, you screwed that one up big time, chap.
One last thing, if you consider yourself a fan of animation, you shouldn't dismiss this list just because you don't know half the characters in it... instead, you should check them out to understand why would anyone consider them cool to begin with.

King Louie from "The Jungle Book" and Scat-Cat from "The Aristocats"!? Really? That Dancing Orango and that Jazz cat!? Meh... come on, if you want to find a suitable opponent for a flying pegasus equine that can break the speed of sound and kick dragons on their faces you need to do better than this :)
King Louie is the orangutang from Jungle Book

And as for Scat-cat beating Rainbow Dash? Let me just remind you:

Man Disney used to rock

Actually, that was their worst period... the quality of animation was very downgraded from earlier decades, and as far as I like "Everybody Wants to be a Cat", I don't really hold anything dear about those movies you just mentioned... besides, we're taling about cartoons on this list, not animated movies.

Errrr... no, they're not in anime, especially not the second one. Toph is from "Avatar: The Last Airbender" and Rainbow Dash is one of the infamous ponies everyone loves.
1st. "Avatar the Last Airbender" is anime. Americanized a little, but definitely anime.

2nd. I still have never heard of "Rainbow Dash", And that includes all posts, articles, shows, websites, and conversations. In fact, until it was mentioned as cartoon in this thread, I would have thought it was either a flavor of lucky charms or a new gay pride parade.

To your other segmented posts

3rd. I should have put Tex Avery in the second list, and specified that I was refering to his work.

4th. I. Don't. Care. Enough. See, I haven't heard of Rainbow Dash, so that tells me that it's not as popular as any number of other shows that I haven't seen. For example, Freakazoid, haven't seen it, but at least I've heard of it. So, no I won't be looking for Rainbow Dash anytime soon. As to Airbender, I am familiar with that cartoon, and the clips that I've seen were enough to convince me that it's another nightmare inspiring anime. So I definitely won't be watching any of that.

If you like those two cartoons, fine, great, good for you, but the point of my post was that there were a ton of other shows/characters more deserving to be on a list of awesome cartoons, even with the limited number of poll options.

You know, I used to snob Avatar for the same reason... but I was ultimately dead wrong, in fact it's much better than MOST real anime shows. Also, not to preach you or anything, but the fact that YOU never heard of something, does not make it automatically "obscure".
