The optimist says the glass is half full.
The pessimist says the glass is half empty.
The Engineer says the glass is twice as large as it needs to be.

If the glass is half full then I may as well drink it, if the glass is half empty I should fill it up.

To be honest, the whole glass half-full/empty thing is not designed to test what the majority use it for (including the OP). I'll dig up my old psyche textbooks to give ya the correct use of this test after work, if any are interested.
I think it is meant to test weather you are an optimist or a pessimist, but what if you are a realist? Hence the yes answer.
Ah, that's the thing. It's not a test to determine optimism / pessimism. It's slightly deeper and less interesting than that. Has more to do about finding out which part of a person's brain is dominant, as well as test emotional links to descision making, and a few other things. Overall, it's incredibly boring.

Which came first, the chicken or the egg?

The egg, which turned into a chicken. The egg was laid by an animal that was remarkably similar, but genetically not quite, a chicken.
...You just blew my mind.
Everything makes sense now :)

As has been said, its half empty if its just been emptied, half full if its just been filled.

And eggs definitely came before chickens since dinosaurs were around a long time before birds of any kind.

That means it's time to mix another drink, that's all. I had someone ask me What Is The Sound Of One Hand Clapping? I slapped the crap out of the pothead and said "That"

The chicken came first. The egg is only a potential chicken.

How's that for overly simplified Greek philosophy?

Look its a Question on Optimisim...A Glass Half full could be a negative and a glass have emtpy could be a postive it all depends on the glass if you have a beer and you drank have of it an postive person would say its half full saying and a negative person would say dam it its half empty,What if the glass is half of Sh!t? an postive person would say its half empty meaning its only a little bit of torture to consume the sh!t while a negative person would say its half full meaning he had more to eat and hated it...It all depends if your drinken bear or eating SH!T.Wait what were we talking about?

In the end, you shouldn't drink the damn stuff because you're the one that going to have to drive tonight.

And you know what happened last time.

When asked that question I usually ask what's in the glass. Then ask what kind of glass. Then if I could buy the glass... and so on. eventually they give up and go home.

Actually the glass is neither full nor empty. It is a perception of a collective entity by an entity experiencing itself subjectively with no limits in life and not restricted by time. In short the glass does not exist so it cannot be either half full or half empty.
No more crack for you!

"i dont care, im not thirsty"
"yeah... 50% air 50% water... then why are you smiling?"
"it depends on several factors, does it look like it has been washed since last used?"
"your an idiot, do you even know why your asking me this?"
