As ivr already said in thread. she is not once called catwoman in the movie. Just Selena Kyle
So you think she's going to be a thief wearing a themed costume and a mask who uses her real name? Then what's the point of the mask and the costume? At this point, she's only been credited as Selena Kyle. The movie isn't out yet, you have no idea if they never call her Catwoman.

She is an equivalent of Catwoman for Spiderman, but different universes (Spidey is marvel, Bats is DC, they don't cross over)
They can cross over, but it seems to destroy both their brains and the universe.
...And I can't stop watching it.

OT: A little silly, but Catwoman has never not looked silly. Either she looks like she's going to a fetish convention or a boring costume party. I don't think it's possible to design an outfit for her that I'd be able to take seriously.

But I really don't care. I'm sure I'll enjoy the movie anyway, though I'm not expecting it to be as good as TDK.

Yeah, I really don't like how Catwoman looks in TDKR.

I really like her design in Arkham City though:
This in my opinion is exactly how they should have designed her costume to look like. The only thing is lacks for a cat burgler is no pockets or backpack of anykind but that can be easily put in.

I think they should've gone with the Arkham City look to Catwoman without the stupid mask.

Lets face it, if you've danced with a beautiful lady at a party like Bruce does in the movie, is a mask like that going to hide her identity? She was even WEARING A MASK at the party as well. To me that's what is stupid about it. The mask doesn't need to be there as it doesn't do anything. NOBODY IS GOING TO BE FOOLED BY THAT. Even Rachel wasn't fooled by Bruce's batman impression in the previous movie and he is wearing FULL BODY ARMOR WITH FACE MASK.

The rubber corset with fake stitches Catwoman from Batman Returns looks just as ridiculous to be honest. I've never understood why people like it so much :/

Edit: I know she has goggles and some tech incorporated into her head thingy, but Arkham City Catwoman had goggles that didn't look like a stupid ballroom mask.
Well people was always fooled when superman wore glasses sooo...

OT : it doesn't look that bad . Just wish they had gone with another actress though . I don't think she looks the part . Anyways why is catwoman even in the new movie? She is more useless that robin .... Who was basically batmans secretary .

Seriously? You can't see the Riddler as used in a good finale? He is a big whopping psychopath that uses different, outlandish contraptions to abduct, hurt and kill people. The amount of crazy stunts they can create with this setup would be unlimited!

As far as different villains, here is a list of enemies that I think would be far better options:
Man-Bat
Solomon Grundy
Clayface
And my personal favorite: Mr. Freeze

There is so much source material to draw from, so many great costumes to be designed. Yet we get Bane with a Predator face mask and a sleeveless jacket with a fur collar.
Man-Bat, Solomon Grundy and even Clayface wouldn't be good choices. Not because they're bad antagonists, but because they're far too supernatural for a movie trilogy who is desperately trying to keep itself grounded. I might be permanently biased against Freeze after seeing Batman & Robin completely ruin the character, but seeing as this is the end of the Batman movies and possibly the end of Batman, I simply don't think he'd be able to pull it off. Bane is literally the only human-like antagonist at this point that can overpower Batman in every single way and his aggressive attitude is something that I believe is necessary for this final installment.

I will admit that I might have been a bit hasty with counting out the Riddler, as the possibilities are endless, but the idea of a rabbit hunt (or something, I forgot the right name for it) kind of put me off initially. I still stand by the idea that a criminal mastermind who has both the intellect and physical superiority over batman is a decent choice, but I can see your point. Whether Bane looks well in the movie is another question entirely.

Guessing I'm missing the sarcasm there, but yeah, that's fine for normal people, but pro cyclists usually use the kind of stuff she's wearing :p

Yeah, but that's just the thing, the clothes are designed to keep you from being both hot and cold, no clue how they work myself, I never really had the desire to dress like a gimp, but I know it's standard wear so it's likely not impractical, even if it looks the part :p

well sorry but you've brought out my inner fanboy.
Now you either know absolutely nothing about Robin or you are massively incorrect in your views of what a secretary does.

Yeah, seems High Heels fit both *sigh* In direct comparison the Arkham City seem to have at least the possibility of hiding her identity (goggles on + you don't see her hair except a few bits on the forehead. Haircut changes alone can do a lot to create the illusion of being a different person let alone getting suddenly hair).
There's no denying that the biggest practical flaw in Arkham City's Catwoman suit is the heels but it bears mentioning that the FM stiletto boots in 'Rises are way more implausible and that's the supposedly grittier franchise where an actual actress had to wear the costume.

The TDKR design manages to be more impractical while simultaneously being less sexy; the worst of both worlds. They should have just licensed the Arkham design & zipped up the front. Now I'm sad.

In the end it doesn't really matter, I suppose. The movie is coming with Bane and techno Catwoman, and it might be all the better or worse for it, the proof is in eating the pudding.
So I will probably be in line for my pudding, whenever it premieres here in my country.

I still dig Mr. Freeze. The Warner Brothers cartoon version, not the Joel Schumacher one.

I'm not sure how it's going to end up, but I'm trying to have faith. It's Nolan after all.

Don't get me wrong, I dig Mr. Freeze as well (also because of the cartoon). It's just that every time someone mentions the name, Schumacher's movie comes to mind.

I took the high road when it came to Batman & Robin, completely ignored it in the movie theatre and whenever it airs on television. If it still haunts your dream, watch the Nostalgia Critic's review, guaranteed to replace agony with laughter.

And yes, Nolan's pudding is definitely the best pudding.

After checking out your profile and finding out that you're a fellow Dutchman (hallo), I noticed that I'm considerably younger than you are, so I was a mere kid when the movie came out. All I knew was that it had Batman and that I had to see it, because "how bad can it be?". Even at that age I knew that the movie I had just watched was absolutely horrible. I spent the rest of my youth watching Batman TAS, Batman Beyond and Tim Burton's Batman (and a couple of comics) just to ease the pain.

I've actually seen NC's review and it was quite funny, but it only partially replaced the agony. It was nice to see someone else rip that movie to shreds out of pure hatred.

Well said. The movie will hit the cinemas in ten days by the way. I've already bought my tickets, just to avoid bad seats and people who fucking talk incredibly loudly through movies like the dumb burlap sacks of shit that they are.

Unfortunately I am old enough to have seen the first two Batman movies in the movie theatre (Batman Returns is freaking scary when you are 12 years old!)

Let me know which cinema you are going to, I will book tickets to the same show and we can bro-fist whenever Batman does something awesome. And boo whenever Catwoman turns up on the big screen. It's hilarious to be the dumb burlap sometimes. :D

I can imagine, but that's what you get for giving Tim Burton the freedom to make whatever he wants.

If we did that, we'd be fist-bumping throughout the entire movie. And you're right, it is fun to be the dumb burlap sometimes, but everything has its time and place. If the movie is a light-hearted comedy of some sort and there aren't too many people in the theaters, then joking around is somewhat acceptable I suppose. But if people are going to fuck around during movies like Prometheus (Better than 3 and AVP, worse than 1 and 2) or the amazing spiderman (Not so amazing, but much better than 3), I'm going to get pissed off. A lot.

Anyway, gotta go. Talk to you later.

Someone who actually looks like she can kick ass. Heck, get one of the Cirque Soleil acrobats to fill the part, that works too. :D

......come to Butt-Head.

So, shall we cast her as Black Canary or Batgirl?

I thought the armour from begins was better than TDK and TDKR.

With a bit more difference in colour between chest, symbol and cowl it would be similar to the one you showed.
