Well, I just bought myself the 2003 reissue, and upon getting to "Time", remembered how brilliant this album is, but I'm interested to see your opinions on it. Does The Dark Side Of The Moon live up to its praise, or is it just a giant bore-fest? Have you never listened to Dark Side? Do you want to?... etc.

That album was the greatest thing I ever heard. The first time I listened to it, I continued to for a week straight. It was awesome.

I don't think its the best album ever and the best thing since sliced bread but I do think its a very unique and very good album. Oh and it does match up with the Wizard of OZ film (well it does when your high).

One of my favourite albums of all time, but I can't listen to most of the songs alone, I havta listen to the whole album in one sitting for most of the songs to be at their full potential

thought it was also important to say, I have an original copy of the original LP in my house, Its my dads but someday it will be mine, oh yes, it will be mine

I work in a snooty coffee shop, and I've noticed that the only band people can ever agree upon is Pink Floyd. Just hard enough to be rock, just innovative enough to be Indy.

While I personally think that The Wall is a more interesting/entertaining album, I'd concede Dark Side of the Moon has rightfully earned its trophy for the 'My-God-Does-Everyone-Own-That-T-Shirt?' award. It's just that spiffy.

It is an amazing album, but I prefer Wish you Were Here and The Wall to it.

On a totally unrelated-but related to progressive rock note, I am going to see Yes tomorrow!
You lucky... *shakes fist*

I agree that Wish You Were Here and The Wall are both deeper and probably better albums, but I think I would take Dark Side over The Wall, and I like Wish You Were Here just as much as Dark Side. I couldn't say why, but there's just something about Dark Side which makes me love it. Maybe it's easier than the other two. Certainly, it's easier going than The Wall.

Dark Side of The Moon is not my favourite Pink Floyd album (that's probably The Wall) but it does have a couple of outstanding songs, namely Time (probably my favourite).

Not a fan of soft rock in general, so I would say it's a "bad" album simply because I don't find it heavy or fun enough to listen to.

Please please PLEASE find some way of watching P.U.L.S.E - it's a live performance at Earl's Court, London back in 1994. As part of it, they play the entirety of DSotM - it's astounding.

I've not actually found myself enjoying it any more while high - I have some Salvia that I could try it with, but it's not really safe to do Salvia in my room (2 stories up, and lots of things made of glass including a 1m tall tube of water that's right next to my books, guitar amp, PS3 and computer... Accident waiting to happen much?). I will try again with weed next chance I get.
