Now I've noticed that a lot of people on the escapist love Doctor Who or has heard of it) and I'm wondering which actor you think is best. I've only watched the last four seasons so I don't know much about the other doctors but personally David tennant is the best.
please post why you chose the option that you did.

It's gotta be Tom Baker as the Ultimate Doctor

How can you love Doctor Who? I want all the writers/producers/actors/anyone associated with/kittens of Doctor Who to just die off, let people with actualy brains make the TV shows.

I liked Ecclestone, he had something of a war veteran about him. Havin said that TOM BAKER!

Tenant was very good and we'll have to wait and see with the new guy.

The 9th for me (Eccleston). Less cheesy than David Tennant's 10th Doctor.

Can't really pass judgement on Matt Smith before we actually see him, can we?

Well...the fist Doctor I saw was the 9th, but, I prefer Tom Baker(4th Doctor) and Patrick Troughton(2nd Doctor).

David Tennant was pretty damned good, but I reckon they should go back to having elderly doctors rather than young spiffing ones... they just don't have the air of wisdom that the older ones did!

I haven't seen the old series, so I can only go by the two new doctors.
And from them i really like David Tennant. He is funny and eccentric, generally just a brilliant actor.

Baker was one of the best i think, however i think all the of the doctors have done a pretty good job and brought thier own little bit to the character.

When does it come on the BBC?
The new series doesn't start until May.

However, there will be 3 hour long specials airing before that. One of the specials will be at Christmas, however the first is speculated to be November and the finale possibly New Years Day.

I do not know if these specials will air in America due to the BBC not having commercials during their programming, thus it would cause problems similar to the recent Season 4 finale had in airing in America.

If you'd like, I can spoil the events of the final 2 stories including David Tennant's death. A friend of mine has been an extra in Doctor who for a while now.

Tennant!
His black humour in the most blackest of situations comes out to be really good. They work with his character as that is what he is made up to be.

'Where have you guys been, living under a rock?' -scientist (spoiler prevention)
'Yes, we have, we are hermits you see..' - Doctor
'A Hermit with friends...?' -Scientist
'Yea, its the meeting of hermits united, we gather every year to talk about..... caves and such.' - doctor

I like the Third, the Fifth, and the Tenth. The second one had some funny points as well.

Very nice, as much as I already know about the final two episodes, the cause of the regeneration I would like to be a suprise on the day, but of course, RTD has done brilliantly so far with the new series, so I trust him to make the final episodes of Tennants glorious version of the doctor brilliant ones.

Anyway, I believe Eccleston's Doctor was short lived, and should really have been the doctor to delve into the history and details of the time war, and of course, square up against Davros.

Fingers crossed for a multiple Doctors story; Eccleston, Tennant and Smith. =D
