There won't be a draft in America. I'm willing to bet on this also. The draft is pointless and the U.S. Army realizes this. People who enlist are willing to fight harder than a person who is pulled of the street. Also, in every enlistment contract, there is a clause that basically states we own you now. After you leave any U.S. armed forces branch, they can re-enlist you when ever they want.

Yes, I'd serve the moment I got my draft. I proudly support America, and would defend it. What ever it takes to protect the fellow Americans, Freedom, friends, and family.

I would be rejected in a physical exam but I would still go. I tried to train to sign up for the reserves here in Canada before my car accident (I got t-boned) but that idea is kinda screwed now.

If I got drafted, which would be a feat in and of itself, I'd just cross the border. Either border, really, I'm not picky. Better weather in Mexico, but less culture shock and water that won't give you the runs in Canada. Either way, unless it was for a war I truly believed in, I'd become a ghost the minute I was drafted.

Just don't tell my cousin that, lol. He's going back for his third tour in Iraq, and they aren't even forcing him. He just keeps volunteering to go back, either he's uber patriotic, stupid, or, like the rest of the family, just can't stand to spend any length of time with his wife. (My vote is for a little of each)

Are you? Well, give my regards to the half-starved, poorly equipped saps you're fighting with airstrikes and heavy artillery. Tell them the next shipment's coming in a week's time.

Note quite. There's a "sunset" on that clause. You're vulnerable for stop-loss for a period (usually a few years) after you get out, but not indefinitely.

I can't speak for your cousin, but it could just be because he wants to be there when his squadmates are in the shit. It's hard to adequately describe the obligation you can feel to people you've trained and fought with, particularly when they're about to be placed in danger again, and you know you can make a difference. Staying behind can feel like cowardice.

I've seen variations on this accusation in the past; "Americans win because of superior numbers" or "because they bomb everything to bits and march in to secure the rubble" or "because they shoot everything they see and burn every village" or so on.
Mind you, I'm not accusing you of such opinions. I'd just like to support for your statement, ideally with specific examples. (Feel free to PM me about it, since it's outside the bounds of the OP.)

the British army have suffered fewer causalities in this war because we left the main bulk of fighting to the US and stayed out of the more dangerous areas
