You're suggesting Nintendo should drop one of the most popular game series ever just because you don't like it?
The fact is, millions of people (including me) still love Pokemon so it's not going away any time soon.

As much as I used to like Digimon, it was a rip off and it sucked.

Should they stop?

HELL YES!

After gold/silver it got repetitive.

I don't want to learn additional 200 pokémon names every year. <.<

Yeah I think they should end it ... it pretty much pointless because its missing its usual charm.

I think they should, but that's not the same as them needing to do so. To me, it's lost whatever creativity or originality it once had, but then again it still makes money. Ultimately that's the final justification; they're a business, not an artistic project design team. Maybe something original would bring in more customers, but there's also the fact that people stick what they know and this way is just a lot easier.

Please Choose the following 'Prove you wrong' Statements.

The Games were all Different in Digimon, as what they did was revamp the formula every time. Also the story mainly resolved around saving the Digital World, as apposed to Pokémon's "Be the Best" Story, and let us not forget that most Digimon Games focused on you having ONE Digimon and raising it like your friend. Pokemon has you raising Lots of Pokemon and catching them all.
Do I really have to compare the Pokemon Anime to Digimon? Really?

I'm going to talk About Digimon Tamers, rather than the others, cos I loooove them Tamers.

In Digimon Tamers, the story is that Takato Matsuki lives in Japan where Digimon is a Card Game, TV show, and Video Game franchise, just like real life. Then one day, he finds a strange Blue Card, and when he puts it into his Digimon Card Reader, it changes into a Digivice. (Or D-Arc) Then he gains A Digimon of his own and goes out to save both the Digital and the Real world.

In Pokemon Ash Ketchum (Bad Pun) becomes the right age to be able to have his very own Pokemon and once he gets it, he vows to become the Pokemon Champion. Then the rest of the series is connected by sub plot after sub plot after sub plot. Every 10 or so episodes, something will happen which you will want to take note of, but the series is just got so much filler in it.

Also, the English Dub for Digimon is better, because they actually kept it mostly true. Jelly filled Donuts anyone?
Digimon is essentially Rock Paper Scissors involving Levels and Digivolution. Also Upgrading. Pokemon is Different entirely.
Actually Pokemon arrived in late 1995. Digimon arrived Early 1996. The only Similarity is the name.

Calumon: He went to so many Wiki's for this...

They need to stop making new Pokemon. They've gone through just about every species imaginable, and then some. What they need to start doing is, instead, just coming up with better and more entertaining storylines. Pokemon Colosseum and Pokemon XD were pretty good starts, for instance. I really liked how it took on a slightly darker tone to the whole world, even if it was admittedly still staying within kid-friendly boundaries.

They need to step up their games and mix it up with some more complex battle tactics. Like, for example...having it be more real-time combat instead of the turn based choose attack and wait for theirs formula that they've stuck with. Maybe this would make it so you also have to co-ordinate and strategize to overcome shortcomings like a slower speed meaning more than just you go second in a battle. Where the accuracy of an attack has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not it hits, so much as how on-the-mark it is for where you aim.

Adding new Pokemon-wise, the series is done, bottom line. Expanding on the already tried-and-true formula of turn based combat could definitely need some exploring. Make combat more involved, more intuitive, and real-time, and you'll definitely have me hopelessly addicted once more. For now, I'm not even going to buy the new games unless I'm desperate for new material. I will be buying HeartSilver, but that's for sentimental and nostalgic values more than anything else.

Didn't Digimon come out in '97?
Anyway, as far as I know, Digimon was around as a concept before Pokemon.
I really used to like the Digimon show and games but I know someone who really likes that stuff. I can't help pulling out the rip off line on people who like Digimon. Sorry :D
If it makes you feel better, Calumon is a good avatar choice.

It stopped being original after Red/Green... Now it's just at Mario/Zelda level of worn out. Nintendo standard.

They need to make some changes to the gameplay but otherwise I'm fine with it.

Realistically, Pokemon has as much chance of dying as Mario.
Well, everything created by man ends eventually...so Mario and Pokemon will end some day as well. It's actually a good thing...it clears the stage for new ideas.
Mario is okay since Miyamoto is not a human but God descended in human form.

OT: Pokemon will never end. The closes it will come to ending is the show going with a different main character. I really hoped they replace Ash and Pikachu after Johto but they keep him around for reasons I can't explain and stick him a different girl trainer every once and a while. The games on the other hand could use a major overhaul in terms of story and gameplay.

I dont think they will be stopping anytime soon.

It, strangely, still makes money even though they really never change up many things with every iteration. But as long as they can keep things fresh for the people who keep coming back to it... no I don't think that they should stop at all

They should only continue if they start being a lot more original about the story! Get 8 eight badges, challenge the league, beat team rocket/galactic/etc somewhere along the way... Id love to try ANYTHING different! Hell, I wouldnt mind joining team rocket for a change! If we were given the option to do things like joining team rocket and moving up the ranks to become an executive or becoming a gym leader and making your own gym or becoming an elite four member, and only if you wanted to yourself - challenging the eight gyms and league.

Pokemon were always ripoffs of real animals and thus never original. Hell, with new ones like Giratina they're becoming more original.

Even if the creature designs are getting worse, the gameplay gets better with each iteration of the series. Although if they are going to carry on after black/white, maybe they could just go for new regions/storylines (or just have a storyline beyond 'Stop team whatever, get badges, beat elite four') instead of making yet more creatures? Seriously, more than 500? I never got all of the original 150, never mind Mew... (Though I did have missingno. at one point. Didn't everyone?)
So yes, I'm in favour of it continuing. I'd just like something new brought to the plate other than just more pokemon in a different region.
I agree. I want a pokemon game where you can freely wander between every all the regions from the 4 generations, but I would like to have more gyms, (4x8 36 gyms) and all the elite fours. That would mean removing the lv100 cap though, because otherwise by the time you get to the last region you'd have all lv100s. lv150 may be better, but that would destabilize a lot of community things.

Also, your avatar is the one of the best I've ever seen!
