How can so many people actually think that gold/silver were the best? Especially as the most recent games were actually remakes of them! The original Gold and silver are obviously inferior to games made more recently. I personally believe that people have this point of view because they think that "Pokemon is a kid's game" and therefore Gold and Silver were the last games that they didn't feel uncomfortable about playing.
As far as I am concerned, Gamefreak has two options:
1) Keep the game as is. Keep putting out the same tired out old routine until it literally collapses into dust. There shall come a time where Pokemon is hated, not loved, and Gamefreak shall fall into ruin. As they enter bankruptcy, all they shall be able to say is "We had a good run".
2) Go in a new direction. Pokemon Stadium and its admittedly shitty spin-offs were a step in the right direction (ie real graphics, not sprites) but they changed the very formula in those games, which was entirely wrong. Give us another main line game, but put it on the PS3/360/PC! With that much operating power you'd be able to really open up the game world, and let us do so much more. Make it open-ended! You could even pull off a 3D Pokemon MMO, because every single one of you knows that would sell well.

Pokemon is great, but latley i hve atarted to think that mybe they are sddin too many pokemon, too fast (Gold/silver remakes announced before platinum release worldwide, then black and whit revealed before those hit worldwide).
I love pokemon, but im getting really tired of the retro-2d stuff. they day they make a full conversion into 3d on a console is when ill be happy. Mbe an mmo, then they could add pokemon but not be forced to come up with 100 new ones each time, only a ew when ideas come to mind. They have proved that they can convert the whole concept to 3D, with pokemon Collseum and XD Gale of Darkness.

After the 3rd generation, I thought that Pokemon should have ended. After 4th generation came around, I tolerated it, but only because of the battle changes that it brought. I don't believe I'm going to be so lenient this time, as I doubt the battle changes will be as major as last time.
I've loved to see a real pokemon game , in which follows closer to the show rather then to limited gameboy crap.
The original games where limited to 4 moves per pokemon due to limits in the software at the time.
Those limits have since been removed , and your telling me that i can still only get 4 moves.
Why not make it so your moves level up rather then your pokemon, or have the moves level up as well as the pokemon.
Second off , make it so you can catch all the pokemon in the game , two games to get all the pokemon is a scam to get more money and i refuse to follow that, although the online trading did help a lot.
Thirdly, i'd love to have a story but not be forced to follow a path, if i want to go to the "last gym" first i should be able to.

Hey uh people. I heard they were going to end it with black and white. Like close down shop after those versions. It's probably the truth. I mean they got all the way to diamond and pearl and then started remaking the old ones. Black and white almost immedeitally came out as well. It's probably a fair sign game freak is probably putting there hat on the rack and walking away. I would expect a third version to match black and white (grey?) and then it's done.

There should be some sort of game that kids should play so they can get into playing rpgs. But not just pokemon. Games like Azure dreams, robopon, dragon quest monsters. Ya know easy playable games with lots of neat monsters and camp dialogue. Pokemon had it's run. We should start having something different. Ya know a new pokemon. Doesn't that sound fun? I think it could be.

I don't really care. Despite my opinion on the new designs, if the kids of today like them, that's all that counts. Let's face it, if you were there when the First Generation rolled out and played the original Gameboy releases as they came out, you are no longer the target audience for the product. As long as the target audience thinks the new Pokemon are The Shit, new Pokemon will be made and there is no reason why they shouldn't be made. Even if it is shitting all over your childhood memories (or whatnot), that doesn't mean some kid should be prevented from having his own Pokemon-related childhood memories.

OT: I'm of the opinion that the Pokemon games should have a sort of a "last hurrah" in the form of one last, ENORMOUS game featuring every region and every Pokemon ever conceived.

No matter how much I dislike the new Starters...I'm bound to find myself buying the new games.Just because I'm living on the tiny shred of hope that they do something new and amazing with the series.
