But some urban songs have some quite deep lyrics

"Let's dance in style,Let's dance for a while,
Heaven can wait we're only watching the skies"

Jay-Z ft. Mr Hudson
What's so deep about that? Sure, it's not exactly appaling lyrics, I djust don't see anything deep in that.

It's all rubbish. Its just untalented crap that can be sung by anyone, as long as they have some beat boxes in the background and talk about hoes and all that kind of crap.
Oh, we have a challenger? Great stuff!

Here's the beat - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVj7bzJOf3w

Your challenge is to have a track uploaded in a week. It doesn't have to have a set amount of views or anything, but I'd love to see you prove how easy it is to write decent rap. I mean, really, I would, I'm looking for something new to listen to at the moment, and if you can save me the time with your lyrical ingenuity then please, feel free.

Or is it not quite so easy? If you want, I'll even respond with my own track. Fuck it, I'm ready to put my money where my mouth is, what about you?
I would, but I like to keep anonymous, and playing your voice is not being anonymous.

If you can direct me to an audio changing software that is free, I could possibly reply to your challenge. Or I could just write up lyrics.

But fine, I will admit that not all rap is pure bile, but I find that most of it is, nowadays.

Your move.

And no. Anyone can write, it takes more to actually lay down a track. I know guys who can crowbar syllables into a bar and make it seem effortless. Likewise I know people who can spit fire, but overextend and try and fit four syllables in a 3 syllable space, and mess up because of it.

Come on, pen to paper, paper to mouth, mouth to mic. I want to see you attempt to do this.

You've admitted that not all of it is complete crap, that's cool. I won't come back quite so harsh when I write the reply. +3 to respect, but that still puts you at -2... if you've got the balls to record and upload, that'll put you back above 0
Three things:

1. Must it be the full length of the video? I don't want to do all of that. Perhaps one minute?

2. How much time do I have?

3. I would like a cookie when this is over.
It's two weeks later boyo, link me the video please.

All in all I think that rap is pretty much shit. Chicks dig it, that is the only redeeming quality it can have.

Rap isn't something I listen to normally, but I have come across songs that I have liked. As long as it's well written and has a little more than just those thumps and beats in the background. But yeah, in my eyes, rap is mostly rubbish. Much more open to rock in general.

It is nonexistent. I forfeit the contest a while back. Mainly because of my extreme case of laziness.

Don't worry, you got your point across. I still don't like rap, but I will at least treat it with more respect than I did before.

Rap is something I listen to from time to time, but I love skilled things, like the best of the best kind of artists. Whenever I listen to music I love the fastest stuff a human could possibly compose, such as Tech N9ne and Bone Thugz n Harmony. That's pretty much it, all the other Lil' Rappers out there do the same formula, they only need to find a good beat, slap some words on it, and the mainstream public would like it for about 3 ours until moving onto the next "hit."

Most of it is rubbish, but I've recently been listening to Jay-Z and I'm genuinely impressed.
