like the topic about movies but for games.

for me it has only been halo wars. i just hated all the people i'm supposed to be attached. seinna or whatever the holograms name was was probably supposed to be funny, forge was probably supposed to come off as a bad ass motherf***** and colnol sanders or whatever his name was probably was supposed to be the strict guy but i hated every single one of them.
All the NES and SNES rentals from the 80's and early 90's, too many to list. Pick a game by Data East, True Lies, Rush'n Attack (what a clever name), any of the Resident Evil games until 4 (talk about lack of intuitive controls)...any of the obvious Zelda ripoffs, like Star Tropics and Star Fox adventures.

The original Halo. I just couldn't stand any more fucking metal corridors that looked the EXACT SAME as all the other ones.

Far Cry 2. Too much repetitiveness... Thank god the multiplayer and mapmaker are quite decent.

Saw. Dear god, I want to cry when I think of that game... It had so much potential, but it has zero immersion, terrible combat, clunky controls, stupid and unrealistic puzzles, and un-Jigsaw-like mechanics.

Gears of War. The shooty shooty die die mechanic got really old after the first 10 minutes. That was 10 gigs I was glad to get rid of.

Any MMORPG or RTS I've ever tried, simply because I'm:
1. Terrible at RTS's and
2. Don't have the attention span to level one character on an MMORPG. I like them, I just can't ever reach endgame >.<

3D Ballz for Megadrive. True, it isn't even a game you can properly complete but I couldn't even make it to the end of the first fight!

Hmmm...well, it's not in my nature to play some game and never finish it, but there have been exceptions. Behold:

My friend gave me Neverwinter Nights one day, so I decided to give it a go...I went through the first missions and just said, "this is boring, screw this" and never played it again. The game was just...underwhelmingly boring. I recently even uninstalled it from my computer.

I just started Command and Conquer: Tiberium Wars. I played through the first GDI mission. It too, felt so bland and boring. Not a good first impression. I had just finished Red Alert 3, which I enjoyed a lot, by the way. After that game, Tiberium Wars was just inferior in my opinion. I might try this game later, but I have no interest in it right now.

Spellforce 2 was another game I eventually uninstalled. Got through barely 1/4 of the game and decided that I won't bother with it anymore. An RTS/RPG sounds like an interesting combination, but here I just got bored of it. The RTS part was so made in such a uninteresting way and the RPG part felt like an tedious add on. So bland again (can't explain how it is bland, it just is)...I wanted more, but the game didn't deliver.

I really stopped and never finished FFIV because I got bored by the story- tried again with FFVII and the same thing happened.

The gameplay is always good- that part I can agree on- but the story is what makes me WANT to keep playing it and it just wasnt enough to keep me going for that game.

that also reminds me that I never beat GTA III. I think because I lost that game... I should do that

Oblivion, a story I dont care about and gameplay that puts me to tears, I tried to like it, but I just couldnt play it.
Oh and GTA 4, I played through the story and it wasnt bad, but eventually it clicks that it is all the exact same thing and it couldnt hold my interest. I think i got to like 75% done and I didnt want to play another mission

Christ, there are too many, so I'll hit up my shelves in alphabetical order:

Black & White (became dull when they took the creature away for a huge level)
Carmageddon TDR 2000 (in no way better than C2)
Deus Ex (never got into it)
Discworld Noir (managed to miss a plot event and end up in a dead-end)
Homeworld (does too many things wrong)
Operation Flashpoint (contradicts itself at a fundamental level)
Sid Meier's Pirates (repetitive)
True Crime: Streets of L.A. (REALLY APPALLINGLY BAD)
X3: Reunion (Complex economy system which is just more effort than it's worth)

And that's just the PC games in DVD boxes, I can't be bothered to go on.

To OP: If you say you hated the characters then I take it you have never seen Firefly. Watch Firefly and then come back here so we can both agree that the characters are awesome.

EDIT: Scratch that, I thought you were talking about ODST. My bad.

FF7, words cannot describe the hate I have for that game and series.
Whilst I do not agree, I can safely say you are not alone.

Final Fantasy X.
Now this is totally disagree with. It was a long slog to finish that game, but the ending made it worth it. It seriously had one of the most beautiful pieces of music on it I've ever heard.

I couldn't finish the first Kingdom Hearts. Horrible camera system put me off totally. Nasty stuff.

Also, Grand Theft Auto Three. I got so bored out of my skull when I hit the wall with that game.

I frequently don't finish RTS or FPS single player campaigns. They are frequently underwhelming-just a bunch of fights or missions that all feel the same.
Is you avatar from the Thick of It? If so i tip my invisible hat to you good sir.
