I really wish people would qualify their statements that gaming is, or is becoming the "greatest" art form. For such a young medium to be assumed to have superceded older, more established mediums while having had only a negligible cultural impact up until the last decade seems quite presumptous.

This is gonna sound odd, but I really like comics. I think that they have all the abilities a book can have, with the added benefit of actually being able to show you what is happening, rather than describing, which has always been odd to me, both as a reader and an ameteur writer. As a writer, I tend not to be able to write anything rather long, which is a problem sometimes. With comics, this can help because I don't have the walls of text that some comics have. Though it does mean that my art has to be good. Which its not.

Comics can count as novels

Literature, specifically novels. They're just so much more than games and movies.

Also, I expected theatre in this.

Clearly, the greatest form of art is vomit-splattered paving stones with ambiguous titles. So evocative..!

I can not believe what I'm seeing (more specifically, what I'm not seeing). Where's the option for arts of the martial variety?

Personally I think the poll should be changed from "novels" to "literature" in general, because as literature goes, novels are actually the "youngest" form in that genre. Poetry is undoubtedly the oldest, and that's where my vote goes.

Personally, music, drawing/painting and sculpture.
Games are just a summation of the three along with lots of coding and talented movement programmers and writers.

Art is using one's imagination and creative skills and put it to use. Therefore, anything that has creation and imagination is art.

Can't decide on which is the best though....

Games, you can know as much or as little as you want about them and they are interactive

All forms of art are equal, but the ones that I like are more equal than the others.

I may be a bit bias (being a musician) but my vote goes to music.

Its such a diverse medium, people use it to teach people, make them feel somthing or simply make people want to dance.
