We'll sort ourselfs out in the end. Humanity likes to wait until just before we're screwed to do anything.
Wait I thought that was the American Way. I think if we stop killing our resources, we could make it

Nearly all of humanities problems are related to the monetary system.

But it as a cultural system is so ingrained in peoples minds they refuse to believe the world could be any other way.

As a cynic, I have a pretty low opinion of the human race as a whole, in it's current state. I try to have faith in the goodness of the individual, though. And I know, no matter how screwed the world does get, it's never going to get bad enough for me to think "what's the point?" The world may be rubbish sometimes, but the hell if I'm going to contribute towards it. I'm going to try and make the world a better place, even if that proves an impossible task.

Besides, it's not as bad as the media like to make out. As has been mentioned, we tend to hear about the horrible things far more regularly than the good, even though the balance isn't that skewed in reality. Accentuate The Negative [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/AccentuateTheNegative], and all that.

You know what pisses me off it's the fact that when the ship starts sinking the ones that get to leave will be the goddamn assholes that are responsible in the first place I say if we go down they should go down with us

I don't usually say things like this due to always looking on the negative of everything, buuutt.. *sigh* the human race, as a whole, is a very determined and ambitious race and we have come through a lot worse, it would be a shame to be stopped now. But I doubt that's going to happen, people are too stubborn to be beaten, they'll most always find a way.

Incidentally, this can be seen as a bad thing or a good thing depending on how you see it.

Yeah, we're fucked. And the worst part is that after we're gone, some day aliens will land and search through the rubble and find a disc with the 2 Girls 1 Cup-video on it. And that will be humanity's legacy. Which is fine, since that video is the most accurate depiction of humanity.

As a race overall in the grand scheme of things? We're f*cked. Mainly cause the planet is going to kill itself anyway for the millionth time.

In the near future though we should be OK, so long as governments stop going on about planes and cars CO2 emissions when that's less than 1% of where global warming comes from, the rest is cows and their arses.

Well, I have a little sister, so every day I fear the future of humanity. Also, I think we're too sensitive about people dying.

We need a good genociding sometime soon. As it is, we'll evolve into a cesspool of insanity, with thousands of physical and mental deformities all because the people that had such conditions around here weren't kind enough to either die or become infertile.

I think that we just expect to have rights. While that's sort of the definition of a right, I still think it's something that should at least be taken away if you're a dumbass or something.

But that's a solution (a poor one), and not an opinion.

If we don't do anything- and being as phlegmatic as I am, I can't imagine myself doing so- yeah, we're going down the shitter.

Darwin's turning in his grave.

At this point it could really go either way. I know sorting out planetary damages isn't likely given the current circumstances, but less probable events occur frequently, so...
If I can have no ferret, and no plan to have a ferret, one day but the next day have a baby ferret to take care of, whilst living in Australia, then the world can sort itself out.
