For the consoles the holster button was changed for the quicksave, something we didn't have before. I don't know why they would change it on pc. Maybe made for consoles in mind instead of PC most likely. Though I don't see the big deal anyway. It never seemed important before.Mr.Tea said:Jacco said:I've heard it was a memory issue of 3-4 megabytes or that it was replaced in favor of the quicksave. I just can't figure out what the hell was so important that they couldn't leave it out in favor of an established and useful game mechanic.CrazyBlaze said:I perfer the quicksave over the hostler anyways. I never really used it in E2 expect when I was bored just walking around. Other than that no big loss. I use the quicksave much more than the hoslter. Its more convinent if you want to save and turn off the system. I wish that more games had it if they have the extra button.Ok, wait. I must be missing something here so maybe you guys can help: Quick-saving and holstering existed alongside each other just fine in the previous two games, where the hell does this "dilemma" suddenly come from anyway?The_Blue_Rider said:Quicksave > Weapon holstering any day, I didnt even realize you could holster your gun until my 4th playthrough of Mass Effect 2, and my experience was completely fine
Hey, I do find it highly annoying when I can't jump at will. I despise contextual jumping. It doesn't ruin the game, but it is an annoyance. Maybe its just because I have a strong platformer background, but the only time I like a game without jumping(and in which it makes sense for jumping to be an action; bejeweled isn't hurt by the lack of a jump button) is when the lack of jump is part of the puzzles.RagTagBand said:Ateniably. what point is holstering your weapon a useful thing? You're either in a combat situation, so you'd have to be stupid to holster your weapon, or you're not in a combat situation, in which case you don't need to have your weapon drawn.
Why is this a thing? Are people that pathetic? Oh wait. Yes, Yes you are. Clearly. Und
Being able to holster your weapon isn't beneficial, it doesn't aid immersion, this shouldn't be a thing. You can't jump whenever you like either, where are the people weeping about that? Where are people bleating "I need the ability to jump whenever I please! I want to be able to hop and skip in-between combat encounters! The lack of the ability to jump outside of when I actually need to jump is ruining my game!"
You people take first world problems to a whole other level.
You could holster your weapons in Mass Effect 2?The_Blue_Rider said:I didnt even realize you could holster your gun until my 4th playthrough of Mass Effect 2, and my experience was completely fine
Dude if that is bothering you , dont play MP as a Krogan, I have a 50" and the fucker takes up half the damn screen.Clive Howlitzer said:It mostly drives me nuts because the game insists on having the camera rammed so close to Shepard's head that I can't see anything. I don't have a super high resolution so that half my screen can be taken up by my character.
I think the thing that drives me the most nuts is the fact run/cover/use are ALL bound to the same key and you can't change it.

That looks so much better! I was playing on the 360 today trying to look at a Reaper attacking a ship, and felt I was missing half the action from moving the camera back and forth. It was driving me nuts!Keava said:I never really bothered with holstering ... but the camera is an issue.
Gladly the fix for it is pretty easy, You just need to edit Coalesced.bin and increase FOV (default is 70, at 90 it looks way better). Suddenly You actually get to see the surroundings.
FOV = 70

Apparently adding slider in options is too much work for big studios these days...
holy hell..that is so much better, does it work that way in multiplayer too with the fix?Keava said:I never really bothered with holstering ... but the camera is an issue.

In any game I play I holster my weapon whenever I can, if I'm given the choice then I will holster my weapon, it does aid in the immersion you have a choice, also if I'm in the proximity of innocents I will holster my weapon, because you wouldn't do that in real life since it would be rude and threatening.RagTagBand said:At what point is holstering your weapon a useful thing? For purely aesthetic reasons I agree completely.Adam Jensen said:It bothers me because there's no justification for the lack of holster function on PC.
And I just feel like an idiot running around a secure area with my weapon drawn.
