Yeah, remember when we all heard that M. Night Shyamalan was going to direct a movie based off the Nickelodeon TV series, Avatar: The Last Airbender?

Well it looks as if he's finally released a trailer for it. Your thoughts?

Also: Damn, they got the Fire Nation navy absoluetly right. Those ships just sold me a ticket, regardless of how the film turns out.

I'm conflicted. I was so set on hating Shamamallamalingdingdong for ruining the movie, but that looked... well... good.

But when did that scene ever happen in the shows my guess is that it'll be an alternate universe.

I dunno, I generally have a policy against seeing live action movies of my fav cartoons. I'll wait and see what some of the comments are and decide then if it's worth seeing in theaters or waiting for it on dvd.

He already lost my money knowing that characters that are supposed to be Asian, Inuit and Pacific Islanders became a cast of white heroes fighting brown villains.

Then I saw the trailer and it looks like amatuer work.

Avatar was like WWII only with magic and crap. I enjoyed to whole series. But I probably wouldn't see it although the thought does sound awesome. But one movie that should be made is Sky Land. Now that was an awesome show!!! Had a WWII feeling but with a bigger twist than avatar.

That was surprisingly good. Though intuition tells me that acting will be crap.

Though this really isn't the type of film m night shyamalan normally does. (Yes I like him) I wonder if he'll thow in a twist ending?

Directors and producers should have input on trailers and marketing. This is the first glimpse we have of footage of the movie. M. Night has already gotten a lot of heat from his last few movies. This movie has already garnered outcry from the whitewashing and age of the casting.

What did he do to relieve fears? He released an image of Zuko with no scarring. He released a teaser with cliched narration, typical CGI, martial arts moves that came straight from the Star Wars kids and a logo that I wouldn't realize has anything to do with Avatar if I didn't know already.

I'm gonna see no idea how it'll turn out until you actually see it...and you know its hard to find a bunch of different races for one movie its just easier to cast white people...especially since alot of the characters looked white in the series in fact the only poeple with different skin tones were the southern water tribe in the first of the series. Anyway I liked the effect of the arrow on Aang's head in the trailer...it makes it look more ceremonial than the simple blue tattoo in the series.

I'll probably see it. You know, I said this about the Street Fighter movie too and never saw that. So, nothing's set in stone.
