Poll: The Last Airbender Movie Trailer

I question the necessity of a live action movie. The original series speaks for itself. And considering that it would be almost impossible to adapt all 61 chapters into 3 movies would be impossible, people who are curious could just watch the show.
That being said, they didn't change it too much. It looks a lot better than other live action adaptations I've seen recently. (Dragon Ball Evolution)

I will wait and read reviews to see if it stays true to the cartoon or not. It will most likely be better than any Uwe Boll film though.

He should have skipped the two scene Star Wars Kid teaser process and went straight to the trailer. This is common practice for when a team really wants to wow people.

You're probably right that a full blown trailer might have been a better move, but it's pretty standard Hollywood marketing practice to tease before doing full trailers. It's also my understanding that production had very little input into marketing, which is often sometimes done completely out of house.

Not all the time. Zach Snyder cut the Watchmen teaser himself, and Peter Jackson asked for revisions of the King Kong trailers.
