Avatar was like WWII only with magic and crap. I enjoyed to whole series. But I probably wouldn't see it although the thought does sound awesome. But one movie that should be made is Sky Land. Now that was an awesome show!!! Had a WWII feeling but with a bigger twist than avatar.
Oh! I loved Sky Land too! It was soooo goood! I do wish I could see it again. Or a remake or something.
yeah Sky Land kicks a**! I feel that the show was a little too short though. But I'd definitely rent the movie if it ever had one :D
In concept Sky Land looks suspiciously like Last Exile...

I am a little annoyed that the Actor who's playing Aang, from this trailer, looks a little too stiff. He needs to flow from strike to strike, position to position, and not hesitate so much, however, that can easily be overcome with a little more more training/practice, and since that's probably happening..., *sigh* I might see it... I might not.

I just hope that Aang isn't white like Goku was in Dragonball Z Evolution. If he is...ouch
Well, I have bad news for you... D:

Anyway, I'll probably go see this one just to see what they got right. Strangely enough I never got into the series itself. Weird.

Since people keep commenting on the kid's stiffness I wonder what you guys think about the Matrix's fighting.

I will be seeing this movie, even though I am absolutely certain my soul will be crushed, once again, when Aang and Katara hook up, only this time in live-action. Gross.

It seems like some cheesy recreation. I know it;s only based on the TV series (that I still watch even though im problably way too old for it) but it seems like it would have been better if they kept it as an anime.

Sky land was a good looking show, the animations almost looked like mirrors edge, I just wish they still put it on, It feels like so long since I've seen it, I can't even remember what it was about

Well, I guess the effects are pretty cool but why in Gods name are they all white?
Seriously. That's what's going to ruin the movie for me.

First of all, I guess I should mention that Avatar wasn't a series that I really got into. I watched bits and pieces of it every now and again, and, therefore, I have a hazy understanding of the plot.

So, from the perspective of the casual onlooker, I though that teaser wasn't too bad. Sure the narrative was cliched, and the martial arts were stale, but I didn't think the teaser was bad at all. In fact, I see this film as being something that may well peak my interest of the series properly, regardless of the quality of the movie, since if its good, I'll want to watch the cartoon to see how well it portrays it, and if its bad, I'll want to watch the cartoon to see if thats better.

I have no clue what that show is. I just find it like a WWII theme in it because of the dictator and the taking over the world thing. Also the fact that there is a resistance and air battle dog fights. That's what I see as the base of the whole show.

First of all, goku was an alien (though he wasn't in the movie, but forget that for now.) It's perfectly fine for him to be white.

At least Aang seems sutibly "monkish" and hasn't been made into some highschool punk.

Also whenever I watch cartoons, The characters are just ethnically neutral to me. I don't perceive them as asian or white or inuit. They just...Are. So I can't really get riled up about that.

Yeah, pretty much exactly like last exile. Kinda... Imagine if world war two was set almost entirely in the skys. (planes, battleships, everything) Both sides had just cause, and the antagonist was an malicious 3rd party.

Am I the only one who has never seen or cared for Avatar?
I'd have to say, yes. If you came to see people who haven't seen it or cared for it... wrong thread for you.

This reminded me waaaaaaay way too much of the Dragonball: Evolution trailers. As much as I love Avatar, I'm not sure if I'm willing to spend the money to see what M. Night does to this.

Did you really have to put your name in the title? Honestly? This movie is supposed to be called Avatar: The Last Airbender, not M. Night Shyamalan's The Last Airbender. In fact, the movie would probably do better if people didn't know he was the director.

Actually, I was already planning to see the movie anyway, but I'm a little more enthusiastic now.

Frankly, Shyamalan is a good director, who has made good movies, before he seemed to fall in love with his own cleverness and his appearances in the films he directs. He's working with non-original material this time, material he's expressed a lot of admiration for, an admiration reflected by DiMartino's and Konietzko's for his work. His name doesn't predispose my opinion one way or the other.

I'm gonna go ahead and not assume this will be bad.

Also: Damn, they got the Fire Nation navy absoluetly right. Those ships just sold me a ticket, regardless of how the film turns out.
I definitely agree on that one... Looks very cool
Me too! I wasn't too sure until they showed that.
