I hope the movie turns out well. Being that there's not much to the trailer, I can't really come to any conclusion as to the film's quality.

And how interesting it is that kid uses a staff the same way I do.

I was excited until I noticed that they ruined Zuko's (lol he's my namesake) scar, which probably means that they ruined the actual brilliance of his character development (which, admittedly, is quite scant in the first season). Of course, this trailer did very little to appease me. Oh, last thing. WHY WASNT FUCKING JASON ISAACS NARRATING

So wait... is the Southern Air Temple now on Kyoshi island? That huge cliff looked kinda like Chin's old "stomping" grounds.

The kid who's playing Aang is adorable. And, judging by the way he moves, apparently a martial arts natural.

The effects look pretty cool. I've never seen the show, so I don't know if I'll see this film or not.

Also, any guesses on the obligatory Shamylan plot-twist?

Go Team Avatar!

Loved the series, may I say it's one of the best shows I've ever seen all round, not sure if a live-action movie is the right direction for the series, but I'll hold on to my hopes a little longer.

And like someone mentioned above, Aang's moves did look less fluid as in the show.

Loved the series, so I'm sure I'll hate the movie. The trailer is boring as hell too... How can you use actors to portray such memorable characters anyway?

Frankly, i'm not going to assume this movie will blow chunks. I'm just going to smile and nod until the movie actually comes out...

Looks pretty faithful to the anime (from the tiny fraction we've seen). I'd be interested to see the "twists" put within it. Its also going to be a little disconcerting if its totally serious and takes itself totally seriously. I mean, one of the whole deals with Ang is that he doesn't really care about fighting, he just wants to have a good time... cause he's fucking 10 years old (or however old he is).
I definitely want to see how Appa is done.

I wish to preform Agni Kai with the dork that came up with the idea..... More likely than not, it will suck. I require good reviews if I am to buy a ticket. [if it doesnt suck great :) (but we all know how 'most' of these kind of movies go dont we -_-)]

Looks better than I thought it would actually...

I'm not so worried about the cliche'd story seeing as Avatar is MASSIVELY MONOMYTHICAL as is. It's hard to escape cliche when you're working with the monomyth.

Though overall the cast is way to white for an asiatic story like Avatar.

Avatar was like WWII only with magic and crap. I enjoyed to whole series. But I probably wouldn't see it although the thought does sound awesome. But one movie that should be made is Sky Land. Now that was an awesome show!!! Had a WWII feeling but with a bigger twist than avatar.
Oh! I loved Sky Land too! It was soooo goood! I do wish I could see it again. Or a remake or something.
yeah Sky Land kicks a**! I feel that the show was a little too short though. But I'd definitely rent the movie if it ever had one :D

Lets hope this is going to be good and not like what happened with Dragon Ball evolution. that movie sucked, it was worse than watching two bulimics barf on one another
I just this movie isint like the ember island players retelling the story where it is horible but sokka was all like its efects were good
I'm with this person. while I liked the series and the story it was trying to tell, I fear that if the director tries puts every detail into one movie he'll probably miss some key things or add something to ruin it (case in point: Jar Jar)

A few years ago (aka before The Village), I would be very excited for this movie.

Now, I'm not so sure.

The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, and Signs were all awesome, but Shyamalan really has not been doing well recently. I'm surprised he's still allowed such big budgets.
