I bought the latest Laurie Anderson album. I had already heard the best song on it a bunch of times. The rest was fairly boring drone / narration stuff that she's done much better on other albums. Looking forward to having the money for R.E.M.'s Fables reissue and Grinderman 2. Yeah, Grinderman fucking 2!

The only album that I did not think was worth it was The Resistance by Muse.
I think the last album I got was Nevermind by Nirvana, which I liked.

Recovery by Eminem and yes it is a damn good album considering his last few have been bad.
Really? I think Recovery and Relapse were both a step down from his previous albums.

OT: I bought Recovery and Sir Lucious Left Foot...The Son of Chico Dusty by Big Boi at the same time. Not really liking the Eminem CD but the Big Boi CD is so awesome. I don't know what it is about OutKast but they just know how to hit the pleasure centres of my brain.

I didn't like Relapse but really do like Recovery as it has some great new tracks and some tracks which go back to his old style from his earlier days. It is his best album since The Eminem Show imho.
It is going to be hard for him from now on due to the shit he peddled over the last few years but thats what makes musical careers so interesting to watch. I think a lot of people are put off from trying his latest album out due to his past few albums not being up to scratch but all I can say is give it a try and I bet it is better than what you were expecting it to be, I know I was.
Well seeing as how Recovery just went Double Platinum I don't think he's going to have it to hard. I liked Relapse better than Recovery. Recovery seems like a soft rock album in comparison to his older stuff. I personally think that this is a huge depature from his older albums. What tracks do you think are like his old stuff? I honestly thought it was way worse then i thought it would be seeing as how Dr. Dre is hardly involved in this CD at all.

I haven't bought an album in years.
I'm pretty sure the last one I bought was OK Computer by Radiohead. It's a masterpiece.

I rarely buy cds anymore because of family financial stingency and college expenses. But the last album I remember buying was Josh Groban's "Awake" and it definitely was worth the $10 I paid for it at wal-mart. (I also bought a Fall-Out Boy comp. but I didn't really listen to it yet.)

Lights - The Listening. Has overtaken Wet as the best £8 I spent this year.
Okay, so I've only bought two things this year that were £8, but I did actually quite like Wet so it's still an achievement.

Thievery Corporation- The Richest Man in Babylon.

Very rich in beautiful, meaningful musics. Worth the purchase.

Music of the Water by Shira Kammen. Really great folk/celtic artist. She did a few of the songs used in Braid.

The last time I actually spent money on an album was the day Snakes & Arrows came out, Rush deserves the money.

Cherry Poppin' Daddies newest album Susquehannah. As a self-publishing band, I love buying their albums because not only are they one of the most original and diverse bands out there, but all of the money goes to them and not some uppity record executive. You can also spend a little extra and get the albums signed by the band, which is awesome beyond belief.

Edit: also, it's their best album since Ferociously Stoned, so bully for that, too!

Well I got 13 albums at the same time so really they are all my last album that I purchased.

Dirty Pretty Things - Waterloo to Anywhere
Them Crooked Vultures - Them Crooked Vultures
Rilo Kiley - Under the Blacklight
The XX - The XX
Paramore - All We Know Is Falling, Brand New Eyes
Editors - The Back Room
Pixies - Doolittle
Arcade Fire - The Suburbs, Funeral
Bat For Lashes - Two Suns
Klaxons - Myths Of The Near Future
The Last Shadow Puppets - The Age Of The Understatement

If I have to choose one it would be Rilo Kiley as it was the last one I put in the basket. (Best £2 I have spent on a single album)
