That's weird, because I thought the Escapist covered a vast array of "escapism" topics, such as gaming, movies, television, religion and politics, electronics, litterature, comics, anime, etc...

Thanks for letting me know that my view should be far more narrow and that all we can discuss here at the Escapist Magazine is "gaming".

Besides, Microsoft is doing a fine job of trying to confuse a game console with an all-purpose television peripheral.
The X1 would be confusing if used since a tv peripheral already has that name, as stated above.

Xbone it is.
That's weird, I thought we were in the Gaming Discussion Forum. Do you normally confuse non-gaming forms of Escapism with gaming forms in the Gaming Discussion Forum?

I know I don't. Come at me again when we're not in the Gaming Discussion Forum. Just to drive that little point in, for you. In here, nobody's going to confuse the Suckbox One with a DVR, simply because I called it the X1.

You want to call it the Xbone? Fine, more power to you. But I'll give you a little hint: I'm not going to, no matter how much you think I should. Because I couldn't give a dime about your opinion on what it should be called.

X1 it is.

Brevity snip.
You act like I'm stupid or something. Of course I'm not going to call it different things depending on the forum I'm in. Know why? I only post in Gaming Discussion. And do you seriously think I care what the general consensus is? Because I really don't. The general consensus is immature and childish, as far as I'm concerned.

Nobody's ever confused it for a DVR when I called it the X1. Know why? Everyone knows what I'm talking about within the context of the discussion. If you're confusing what I'm talking about because you have no idea what context is, I feel for you.

Don't like that I'm calling it the X1? Well that's just too fuckin' bad. I'm not changing the way I talk because you don't like it. How about getting off your high horse and realizing your opinion on what it should be called is not fact and nobody gives a shit.

Like I said, if you want to call it the Xbone then all the more power to you. Me? I'm calling it the X1. Whether you like it or not.

Xbox one, because that is the consoles name, what I call it has nothing to do with my feelings about the console

I agree. I am just not "1337" enough, or immature enough to make up a silly playground nickname for it.

Xbox1 or X1 it is for me.

180 is so much easier to say. Just like 360. But Xbone still sounds hilarious so I shall still use it often.

Let's see...
486
586 ... pentium
686 ... pentium pro / P-II
786 ... P-III
886 ... P4
986 ... Core series
1086 ... "i" series, which its processor is presumably part of.

You forgot the 386.
also, the 286, 8086 and 8088 if you wanna keep going back. They all ran games, after all. To be fair, pre-286 CPUs are actually older than me.

I kinda like this idea. Eighty-one-oh-eighty-six has a nice ring to it, especially if you emphasize the eighty-six [http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=eighty-six].
Though for the record I still think going x86 was the best decision made this console generation. Finally running standardized PC hardware on their proprietary locked-down little gaming PCs.
