Why is there a 'Yes' and 'No' for Pending announcements?
I wasn't going to after the reveal as it looked dreadful. But after the XO reveal, it looks like the lesser of two evils.
What I meant is "yes I am going to get it unless they say something that completely turns me off"

And "No, I will not buy unless they say it will come with x option/game/peripheral I just cannot live without"

Like most people, I'm just waiting on to see if Sony is just trying to hide behind MS announcing its DRM decisions and the flak from its console reveal. About the only thing Sony really said much on was its Online Connection, but yet nothing much on used games. As for a WiiU, I'd certainly like to have one at some point, but I don't see it as being worth it right now. I have no interest in its first party titles. The only one I look forward to is a new Zelda game. I haven't played a Mario game since Mario 64, and I do sometimes enjoy Metroid, but things like Lego City and Super Mario Bros U just don't interest me. I happen to like my mature rated games. I can certainly see myself enjoying Lego City, but certainly not as my first choice in gaming.

I have a pretty cool PC that i use for both gaming and work, so I don't need a console. If I was a console gamer, though, PS4 would be first on my list.

Undecided.

It's hard to determine if it's worth the money without first seeing how this new generation will play on during the first two years. I'd give it one or two years, then decide if it's worth buying. I'd give it six months if there is something really 'revolutionary'.

I am a console guy and I always will be. However, with these issues surrounding the Xbox One it would appear that the PS4 is my last hope for a decent console. I'm taking a wait and see approach to this whole thing. Fingers crossed this generation isn't as bad as it looks.

Depends, really.

Depends on the games, depends on the price, depends on the controller.

I absolutely HATED the PS/PS2/PS3 controller. I couldn't play for any lenght of time without it hurting my hands.

Xbox 360 controller was perfect.

As long as Sony doesn't adopt a Microsoft approach I'll get a ps4 in a couple years

Yep, I'll definitely be getting one. No way in hell I'm getting an Xbox One, and I can see developers cramming the WiiU screen down our throats as much as humanly possible (and with the way I sit/lie while playing games my wrists will not be able to withstand the WiiU controller), so the PS4 is my only option this gen.

I'm a PC gamer through and through.

What I've seen thus far from both the Xbone and PS4 hasn't had me interested one bit. Buying a console for exclusives is not a thing I do.

Apart from a few specific titles that each consoles will have, everything else will be most likely multiplat, because of the PC`like structure that they will have. This will make the developer's jobs much easier to port games.

Probably not. Definitely not on launch.

If, a few years down the line, there are a bunch of exclusive titles for it (or it and the Xbone) that I really want to play... then maybe. But somehow I really don't see that happening. This past generation had... I think 6 console-exclusive titles I wanted to play, and one of those I would only want to play with a mouse and keyboard (damn you, Red Dead Redemption developers. Damn you)... so my PS3 mostly plays PS1 and PS2 titles. Since the PS4 can't do that, there's no way it's replacing my PS3. If the improbable happens, they might sit side-by-side someday.

...if it weren't for that horribad touchscreen controller, I might like that thing. Can it be controlled without holding the monstrous offspring of a 3DS and an iPhone (both being things I despise)?

I was going to get the PiSser4, but it's emphasis on demanding I wade through everything wrong with mainstream gaming will make me jump ship unless E3 shows that the publishers got some sense. It's likely the same story for the Xbone, for me.

WiiU, HERE I COME!

Oh, shit. Wait, that has a touch screen.... Goddammit...

Actually yes, yes it can. You can buy a pro controller which is very much like a 360 controller, and while I doubt you can use that to play games like Nintendo-land, I am pretty sure it will work with any normal kind of game (like mario, Rayman, and whatever FPS that appears on the wiiU). Many games also work with wiimotes. I don't have a pro-controller myself, but I hear nothing but good things about it. Also while the touchpad controller is huge, it is surprisingly light and hasn't given me any problems yet. I use it all the time when I am playing games in bed and I am too lazy to turn my TV on.

Still waiting on announcements.

Not console announcements though. Rather about PC gaming, I wouldn't put it past Microsoft to start implementing some of their 'brilliant' ideas on the next Windows platform and Linux is still doesn't have much support as far as gaming goes.

So should that turn out to be then I might just switch from PC to console, I'm hoping Microsoft isn't that stupid though or, if I'm really lucky, there'll be a shift towards Linux as the primary PC gaming platform although that's quite unlikely.

Right now it looks that way. I'm not a fan of the bullshit Microsoft is trying right now and as long as Sony doesn't do the same, I'll pick up a PS4 at launch.

I hope they show some interesting and novel games at E3. If they do, and evade the cesspit of DRM on used games, then I will probably buy their console.

I suppose that warrants more research from me, then.

...Though my problem with the default controller isn't just the size, it's the presence of the touchscreen (which is the reason I hardly use my DS for games other than GBA titles). I've still never used one with what I would consider to be acceptably precise input. Attempting to use any iOS or Android device is still nothing more than an exercise in frustration for me (my usual response to its controls being a sigh followed by the words "not what I touched, you piece of shit").
I've probably had too much practice at clicking a single pixel out of 1.3 million (yes, I also still prefer SXGA to 1080P) in a short timeframe with a mouse to ever accept something less precise. Mind you, that still means I'm fine with using a thumbstick for beat-em-ups, platformers and such... so again, I'll be looking into the WiiU. Hopefully one can navigate the menu with the "pro" controller.

No... but maybe yes.

Last gen I found both he PS3 and the Xbox 360 to be basically the same thing (the PS360), with only the wii trying to look genuinely different form the group by doing it's own thing.[small]please note that does not mean I liked the wii most, it was actually 3rd on my list for other reasons[/small]. I always like console races better when there is a HUGE distinction between the competitors, and I just don't see it with Microsoft and Sony. Granted, I'll start seeing it soon if Sony finally confirms that they allow used games and you don't need to use the eyetoy 100% of the time. But if they really are being tight lipped about that stuff because they do have the same stance as Microsoft, then they really are just the same all over again. If they prove they are genuinely different, I will considering getting a PS4 one day. As of right now, I am happy with my wiiU, and extremely excited to see the games they said they would announce at E3.
The reason I think many find it hard to get on board with a system on par with current gen abilities is that the games on offer are limited and the ports have shown to be of lesser quality and requiring more money than other versions
Why get Mass Effect 3 on Wii U for $60 when you can get the Trilogy on any other platform for $40-$60 bucks? ME3 also having some issues on WiiU, that could be patched out sure but again where's the value laying here?
Arkam City on Wii U for $60 or Arkam City on other platforms for $20? WiiU version also having performance issues.
Mario WiiU is a hard sell (at least to me and I'm sure this will get the anger) since it's 'extremely similar' to it's past versions up to the DS version. Granted this is more subjective

Having the pause menu shown on the controller screen isn't a game changer and offers nothing that makes these versions stand out past their issues and higher cost either...Though in time with more games it could be more worth it.

I'm not saying the device isn't good just despite all those nice perks listed in the image, it's not practical or cost effective when if you are playing games you probably have a device that plays cheaper & better versions of titles.

OT: PS4? Ehhh it's going to be a expensive leap so I'd rather wait for a while so I can snag a bunch of good games for cheaper. But I'm interested for the most part.

EDIT: Also it can't have any of the brain dead DRM and camera functions of the Xbone obviously, that'll make me stick with what I have.

Currently, no. While I'm certainly more in favour of the PlayStation 4 than the Xbox One at the minute, I still don't consider it a console worth buying - yet. It doesn't really look significantly different enough from the PS3 to warrant an early purchase to me, for a start. Second, none of the games so far revealed have really caught my eye (with the exceptions of Assassin's Creed IV and Watch_Dogs but both of those are out for PS3 as well) so that's another reason why I'm not getting one just yet. However, I'm still banking on some good games being announced for it, which is all I'm waiting for before I buy one really.
