I've been almost insanely lucky with mine. I've had it almost since the things came out and not once have I suffered a RRoD. Somethings gotta give one day though... its been 2 years or something now... what year was the XBOX 360 released?

It helps that mine's an elite (though from what I've been reading that's not much of a shield sometimes.)

I got it twice on two different 360's and so I now rely on my PS3 for gaming needs.

Wow, that's unlucky. They're supposed to be more resiliant. We've had more Premium systems returned where I work than any other type. Very rarely Elites. Suppose it is Microsoft, though, at the end of the day.

First 360 lasted just under a year- disc tray stopped reading all discs
Second 360 lasted just over a year- red rings
Third 360 has lasted for nearly a year and hopefully won't break.

i had it and they fixed it for free in about ten days.
the next time my xbox broke it got shorted out in an electrical surge, so i sent it to be repaired as well.

seriously, I don't mention much about repeat threads because most of the time they're interesting and worth repeating in one form or another, but ever since the first ring of death came about, this topic has been wayyyyyy over done. So yes, I'm gonna call search bar. In fact, don't even use the search bar, just ignore this topic altogether. A more interesting topic would be "who HASN'T..." because I don't know anyone who hasn't, haha.

Yes twice. On 2 different consoles. The second time was out of warranty so I tried fixing it myself. Got stuck at the "use a screwdriver that noone in your country has to undo these screws" part. I'll buy a new one eventually but I prefer my PS3 and PC (and GH3 on wii as my GH copies were on 360 >.<)

I really don't see what the point in posting here is then. You aren't contributing at all to the topic.

As for me, I've gotten it 4 times, all within my warrantee.

i actulley considered an Xbox360... but chose the PS3 ... not because i was scared of the RRoD but i couldnt play Blu-ray's on it... and better exclusives on it... and i cant get the hold of the controller for an xbox.. and also ... PS3 Network is free.. xD im not bashing the X360 in any way sorry for all you X360 owners if you felt it like that :/

I got the elite, I've never got red ring. However, my friend got it three times, so that sucked majorly.

Twice. Reading this thread, it seems like three times is the magic number, though.

Hopefully it can hold off the next Red Ring until September when I'll have my courses to distract me.

Never had a RRoD in the 1.5years me and my brother have had a 360 each in the house (they are newer HDMI consoles though)

we have had the DVD drives fail on both consoles however

I know one guy who has had it 7 times. Its disgraceful. We should all be given free upgrades to apologise for the trauma we have suffered

They should fix the fucking console! I've heard of hundreds of people getting this damn thing so you'd think that Microsoft would have fixed the errors by now... I don't know anyone who wants to buy a £250 piece of tech just to have it fuck up on them.

My old one did it 4 times, and after the 4th I said screw it, took it outside, and destroyed it with a sledgehammer. It was glorious.

And I bought a new one, the arcade version, and 1 month later it got the E74 error, which is basically another type of red ring, only its a black screen -_-

I wanted to murder someone, I know they extended the warrenty for the red rings and E74, but if they did their damn jobs, like a competent company then they wouldn't have had to extend the damn warrenty!

I've had this problem... sort of.
The DVD drives didn't fail, they just scratched 2 of my games, Mass Effect and Rainbow Six Vegas 2, to the point where they are unplayable and I had to rebuy them

Never in my life have I encountered a console with so many errors.
