Never had a RRoD in the 1.5years me and my brother have had a 360 each in the house (they are newer HDMI consoles though)

we have had the DVD drives fail on both consoles however
Quoting myself here (i'm genuinely interested)

Am i just absurdly lucky/unlucky to never have a RRoD but have a problem nobody else has mentioned happen twice over? :p
I've had this problem... sort of.
The DVD drives didn't fail, they just scratched 2 of my games, Mass Effect and Rainbow Six Vegas 2, to the point where they are unplayable and I had to rebuy them

Never in my life have I encountered a console with so many errors.
Ouch!

Thats different (and worse)

I just got random disk read errors followed by the game crashing to the dashboard, followed by eventual 'please insert this disc into an xbox360 console' messages when the drive gave up completely and treated all game discs as DVD movie discs...

Yeah, that used t happen to me all the time, with every disk.
Had to insert the disk, turn console off, turn it back on, and launch the game.

But that xbox is gone now, its beaten scraps are in a better place.

I've never had it. My brother got one light recently, so he's borrowing mine (which I rarely use anyway (might be why it never broke)).

Seen it happen to my friend's 360. And right when we were about to play Halo3.

8 weeks. 8 EFFING WEEKS it took to return it.

I will never trust Microsoft again after that, no matter what anyone says.

I did after a trip to Vietnam. But a little penicillin cleared it right up.
I lol'd.

I've never had RRoD, I'm very thankful for that fact.

Maybe it's BECAUSE you got the elite? I got the medium one (premium?) and never got RROD. It went blind though, but I have a new one. It's off colour and the on/off button is less button-y, but it works, so I'm good.

I've had my 360 for well over a year now, and it's never red-ringed for me. Only one of my friends' 360s has red-ringed, out of about 7 that own them.

Picture a little girl in a dark room plese.
Ring around the rosie.
A pocket full of posies.
Ashes, ashes, we all fall down.
I don't get it...
It's the Black Plauge you dumbass
I knew that, I've just never seen it written "Ashes, ashes" and I also didn't see what it had to do with XBOXs.
The Black Plauge was the original red ring of death because you would get a pimple (i think) with a red ring around it, and instead of killing your XBOX it kills YOU
Ok, then what's with the Ashes?
I don't think I'm correct here but I think at first they woult try to burn the pimple with a red ring off, although I am most likely wrong
It was actually because they cremated plague victims.

had an E73 error, and a single instance of E74, but the E74 seemed to be a false alarm.
