If the rules say you must be trimmed you had better be trimmed, or go to a different school. If that is a rule, and that rule was established way before you were going to said school then yes, your gonna have to cut

Very generally, the answer is yes. Yes the school is allowed to control your appearance.

I'd threaten to take it to court. The have no such right.
And, were I the judge in that case, I would throw the case out because it would be a complete waste of the court's time. Aside from the fact that a school is generally allowed to enforce a dress code, they are also granted sweeping powers when it comes to controlling the student population. If the school thought that the facial hair was in some way disruptive, annoying, out of place, or in violation of the spirit of the dress code, they are well within their rights to ask you to remove it.

Plus, it is a private school. The obvious recourse here is to stop going to the private school if a patch of facial hair that takes days to grow is so important.

Sure

[ img ][ / img ]

Remove the spaces in the square breackets and put the image URL in between the two square bracket tags.

Calumon: Helping is fun! :D
cheers mates, but what if i want to use a saved image from the hard drive?

P.S. Calumon, it didn't tickle but apparently it felt like cat's fur if you stroked it
You have to upload it to an image to a image hosting website. Say Photobucket, Facebook or if you believe it has artistic merit then Deviant Art.

Calumon: Now I wanna stroke it!
Calumon, you're such a naughty little monster!

Anyways, fuck the man; if you can grow a respectable stash'n'patch, and you keep it well groomed, they need to get bent.

Ask them how'd they'd feel about this:

Facial hair is bad, unless your old. Goatees and the like will only make you look like a fool. All men should be shaven!

If its private school then they have the right to tell you to do whatever they want, and have you pay for the privelidge.

It's well documented that people with bears just eminate more manliness than those without. Your teacher and school proprietor obviously were intimidated by the mass of epic facial hair and decided to have it evicted to avoid personal shame.

Do not pity them, for they are merely human.

Man I support you all along, I have nice piece of beard too, so I know that great feeling, althrough I finished school, I would be pissed off if somebody tried to order me to shave it, I even had few fights with my girl about it and she had to back off, she can go but beard stays.

Hope you will get them to senses.

Hey. It's been a while since this thread was touched so but I'd like to just make one last post. I did end up shaving my facial hair however. The next year at the same school, I had grown out my facial hair again and I was allowed to keep it this time. A teacher stuck up for me (his reasoning being "I can't ask a man who can grow his beard thicker than I can to shave") and I was allowed to keep my facial hair.

My facial hair is now more a goatee, much thicker than before and I even had my beard when I went to my prom.

For all you guys who agreed with me, you are made of win. For those of you who didn't, Fail.

Here's a pic of me with the new goatee
