I had almost the same. Then on a crazy whim I joined the military. Then at basic somebody didnt politely tell me I need to get rid of it sometime soon, he screamed it at me. And he kept screaming at me until, and after i was done. Then I did pushups.

Long story short, it seems authority figures have a vendetta against facial hair. Who knew?

Nope they don't but by my standards what you did have was still bum fluff so it's better that you shaved it and got rid of it so it grows back manlier.

Is it a private school? Then yes, you play by their rules. Otherwise keep it.

However you have to consider that this is how the real world works. In the future you might have to do it for a job because it's not professional.

IT'S A PRIVATE SCHOOL!

You have to deal with it.
As a PRIVATE school, they can tell you to do all sorts of crap.

Maybe it's against your school's religious believes or something.

And...HE'S DEAD!
See, you just proved my point.
;)

OT:
I stand by what I said.
Private schools have the RIGHT to pull this kind of crap, does that mean it's right?

Nah, but this is coming from a guy who doesn't shave because he's lazy, not because he's trying to be all 'rebellious' or any of that other crap.

It's a private school = it is nothing but a company, and they can choose their customers as its suits them. Its idiotic, its dumb, but its a fact. its just like me having to change my haircolour back into something more "natural" when i worked as a tutor for kids, the kids didnt care, their parents didnt care, but the company said that they could suddenly start to care about it. Ok i know, in this situation i was an employee, not a customer, but "we" kicked out some annoying kids too.
It may be not a school worth visiting, but they still make the rules.
They should have tried that with me back in the time, but luckily i went on a school that cared about their students and nothing else, the only thing a school should do, not some idiotic believes or social conformities.

My answer: Don't shave it.

Seriously, just don't shave it and go about life as normal. They'll give up trying to shave it sooner than you think.

If it's not a public school, they absolutely have the right to tell you to shave it off. Seems a bit ridiculous that they would, though.

If there's no rules against it, grow it back. If they get on your case, ask them to point to the rule that forbids it.

I know it's much easier to say when I'm not the one facing the consequences, but take a stand.

God damn that school! I'm growing pretty much what you had going on there right now, and I'm sure as hell not shaving it just because my school tells me to (not that they will).

right, this might take a while so pull up a chair. while back, I decided to try and grow a soul patch like Jack black; purely on a whim. later I decided to grow a moustache as well. they weren't terrible and they werent bum fluff, some of the teachers genuinly said it suited me.
Now, skip along a few months till after the summer holidays prior to my final year at the school and its stepped up to a full beard and moustache, not too far away from a goatee. I was genuinly proud of it and people liked it (only a few didnt like it) and one of my friends almost worshipped the damn thing.
now a few days or a week into my first term and the my form teacher drops the bomb "You have to shave it". Apparently the schools owner (Private school) had talked with the head mistress and had decided that i had to shave off my pride and joy.

Now I might be regrowing my facial hair for a charity event and I want to know what the people of the internet think: Is the school fair in making me shave?

heres a few points to consider
- I kept it neat; I even had a comb for it
- There was nothing in the school rules against it
- the school's motto is: "Where the individule counts"
- Even the head mistress said she liked it
I'd tell them no way, you have the right to grow a beard if you decide.

Shave it but keep a dead bird in your locker out of spite. I doubt they have any rule against that.

Try to make it a bigger bird (turkey, eagle, condor).

I recall getting suspended in 9th grade for getting minor blue highlights in my hair, my first like 5 period teachers either liked it or thought it was funny, but then I got into a class with some old 70 something year old woman who stopped me on my way to my desk, dragged me to the friggin principal WHILE HE WAS GIVING A SPEECH in the cafeteria to report this grave injustice I had apparently committed against the school, they send me home on the spot and tell me to dye it out.

Now obviously I was too much of a little prick to listen to them ;P. So I came back the next day the same way, got through the entire day with, again, zero opposition, and then on my way to my last class, this same fucking teacher finds me again, and again, drags me out of class to the office, they suspend me for a fuckin week on the spot.

I was an A-B student before that -.-..lost alot of my drive from then on.

The point is, there arent generally any rules about that stuff, but particular people with be assholes about it, what was even more annoying was that other than that, I had short well kept hair, clean casual clothing, bright colors, absolutely nothing that would make me look intimidating. Plus there was another dude in the school, senior I think, huge guy, wore all black, skulls, peircings, all the works, and he had a spiked mohawk with each individual tip dyed a different color, Pink, purple, green, so on. Apparently this guy never got any trouble from it xD.

You did mention a private school though, Im not sure what the rules are in that case, they may actually be able to complain about that kind of stuff, but in public schools their shit out of luck unless they can make a big enough stink.

Regardless of the matter, theres alot more important things in schools that these people arent bothering to enforce, so going after people who didnt do a damn thing other than dress or groom a certain way is just their cheap way of pretending their doing any real good.
