A zombie can't do much when it's torso is removed.

unless you destroy the brain it will keep going, it can't do much but in the heat of battle would you really watch to make sure you aren't near any heads or would you focus on the undead killing machine coming at you?

You've never heard of vampires feeding on rats? Man, you've missed out! Vampires most commonly drink the blood of rats when there is no human source available (you know, like with Anne Rice's vampires....*shudder*......)

I'm not sure about other animals though.....

You don't know your vampires then. They feed on human blood as it is te best for them and tastes the best. They drink other blood when no humans are available or they have stopped drinking human blood.

Don't forget that vampires are majorly supernaturally undead killing machines, too.....And they're much more dangerous than zombies, especially in a group.

Even Renfield in the original book fed off rats.

Depends on the sort of zombies...Zuvembies would keep coming unless they have no means of traction; and the traditional zombie fighting tool is a shotgun. Chula/Vashta Nerada Zombies would still keep coming sans brain.

If we're talking classic Stoker/Romero; Zombies would win because they have the advantage of daylight; and you can't embrace a dead body but you can zombify a living corpse.

how much sustanance can you really derive from the blood of rats, nothing,, not near enough to gain anything i'd reckon. also I guess i don't know that much about vampires if that is the case but i have seen quite a bit and i've yet to see that.

Yes a decapitated zombie head is so scary. Zombies don't stand a chance as they aren't otherworldly. Vampires can use otherworldly powers (not magic)

Vampires capture rats easily using shadows. Vampires have limited control over the shadows. And it's not only rats. Birds, pigs, sheep, most mammals really.

yeah but not to the levels you've claimed, as for netherworld powers, we're talking about living in the real world and here there is no god or satan or netherworld so they cannot exist. anything that can jump that high would be crushed on landing at wouldn't be able to just regenerate unless they feed but how would they feed with nothing around to feed off of and you cant move at super speed without an amount of energy thats impossible to contain in the human body

you can't just say oh they have netherworld powers so they can do magic but it's not magic so it's real. there's no proof that the netherworld exists, even in vampire fiction it's used and unused at the authors choice.
as for the jumping you say they have it, then they dont because i'm right, if it's in then fine but they can't ever use it and if its out then they cant escape by jumping or running so they can and will get swarmed.
