All this thread really is, is which game was the most overrated. From what I can see from others posts.

Final Fantasy VII. VI is better in every way and VII has creepy fangirls. Super Mario Bros. 3 made Mario what he is today (though I liked World better), Link to the Past is when Zelda became great and not hard and confusing (in fairness, the NES was limited), and Half-Life 2 is the greatest FPS of all time with one of the best protagonists ever. Also, I'm one of the few people here who loved Sonic 3. Thought it was a subtle yet great shift in art direction, the music kicked even more ass, introduced Knuckles, evolved the Sonic mythos in a way that made you love it more without producing countless crappy characters, and generally was epic with great settings and embodied everything good about Sonic.

I've tried and tried to get into Half Life 2, I just couldn't, same goes for the rest of the Orange Box, guess a part of me is missing inside or something.
I'm seeing a lot of hate on FFVII. Okay, I'll admit, the gameplay is a bit monotonous, but the story was so great and epic, that I couldn't do anything but love it. I don't see what's wrong with it.
