I went with Other, EVE Online. If you can spend 98% of the "game" alt+tab-ed away reading comics and browsing youtube, it's not really much of a game.

1. Set course and turn on engines.
2. Alt+tab.
3. Read every online comic you have on your favorites.
4. Alt+tab back to realize you still have a minute or two before you can warp.
5. Warp, then set new course.
6. Alt+tab, then read every archived comic on your favorites.
7. Alt-tab, still not there.
8. Alt-tab, Discover naughty pictures on the internet and give up on the "game".

Plus, any game you can level up without even having the program running doesn't quite seem very fulfilling to me.

Glad to see no one picked City of Heroes/Villains and only one person picked Guild Wars. Though I'm surprised by all the people that picked WoW. I'm not a fan, but I would hardly consider it the worst online game.

WoW murders lives and story lines.
In a genral most of people who I know play wow have a life out side of it and Story lines, hummm 10 books and 3 game and 2 have expansions... I think the story is quite good, as do most of the people who play the game/games.
Old school raiding ruined the social lives of so many people I knew. And calling what they've done to the story of WarCraft 'good' is mind-boggling. They've systematically trashed every character and interesting opportunity they could get their hands on. If you need proof, look no further than space aliens as a race and allowing you to repeatedly kill characters of vast importance to the RTS games.
If by 'space aliens' you mean draenei, then they have been an important part of the warcraft lore since before WoW; however, I do agree that letting players kill off characters is bad.
Brain fart there. I should have commented on the whole completely bullshit excuses for getting rid of faction specific classes (that is giving Horde paladins and Alliance shamans). Just kinda gets on my tits.

Also, I just feel that as the expansions progressed they ruined things in regards to the gameplay as well, but maybe that's just the rantings of a bitter, old ex-shaman.

I would have to say blacksite, since I find some MMORPGs strangely rewarding (though I havent played one in years)
blacksite is a horrible mix of CoD4, lost planet and RSV. It tries all the major points from each of these games and fails on all fronts. There are numerous graphics glitches, the AI is boring, story is badly delivered and to top it all off the online multiplayer ahs noone on it. Ever.
It's a lessons to me never to impulse buy based on a cover

Worst? Easy, Halo: Combat evolved on the PC.

In it's defence it does have the fastest connect to play time of any online game I've ever played, about 2 seconds.

But it makes Mechwarrior 2 and Quake look advanced.
Most notable are it's tracking and ping issues, the indicated ping you have does't seem to make any difference, you ARE going to be laggy. You ARE going to warp around as well, you are going to be especially warpy whenever near an objective or heavy weapon like a flag, flamethrower or rocket launcher. You will often be so laggy that yo can enter a base, grab the flag and run out again before anyone sees can see you.

To compensate for the horrendous lag there is a ping noise to indicate a hit, but frankly it doesn't work either. Most of the time you will make a kill without ever having had a hit ping, conversely you will often fire hundreds of rounds at an enemy, doing no damage but getting a hit confirmed ping and often visible shield hits as well.

While I'm at it the only way to reliably score kills is to get to point blank with the shotgun, wait for someone to stand still (and they will when their connection starts dieing) then snipe them, use a rocket/nade spam or use the Assault rifle and try for the death of a thousand cuts. Covenant weapons may as well not exist, they are all totally useless.

Voice coms are apparently there but neither I nor anyone else has ever managed to speak to another player.

God help you if you encounter a hacker/griefer/teamkiller as well, even the most basic admin controls seem to have been omitted, there isn't even an autokick system in place.

Not to mention it came out in 2003...

The worst would have to be those anime games. Sometimes I wonder why on earth did I even try them in the first place.

Runescape is a close second though.

The orks/orcs happen to also come from the same planet as the Draenei, and infact if you read the books it actualy says the Draenei and the orks/orcs didn't hate each other before the orks/orcs became tanited with the second coming of the Burning crusade. This also explains why Dreanei can be shamans, its simple. They a shamanic race at heart and this dying out becuase of the 'Dark view' on it as it more a horde this so the other races (i do Rp realms) on the ally side don't realy like it. and the only reason why Blood elfs could become palys is becuase they needed a tank class that uses mana- although why the can be rogues i have no idea.

I can not comment on the expansions as i joined after burning crusade has come out so never got to play the core game.

If you consider on ranting about the Lore of WoW go read a book and get ur facts right first. Like, the first coming of the Burning leagon was brought about by the high elfs. and the coming in Warcraft 3 was the second time cuased by the orcs/orks who traveld through the dark portal in warcraft 1 from there home world dranor which they shared with the draenei.

Besides, this poll is flawed. The worst online game ever isn't an MMO.
It really isn't "flawed" so much as "putting out the most popular titles to draw attention to more people"... or something along those lines, but yeah.
