If it's an animal I think it will go for my dog before me and wake me up. I doubt it's a person or they've been stealing my shit for 4 hours now. But it's been quiet for a while so I'm just gonna wade the night out with my dog and guitar.. that counts as a weapon in a desperate situation right?

Hell yes your guitar counts as a weapon. It seems highly unlikely something is in your house, but if there is start swinging that thing around like a war hammer.

Even when I think theres something in my house, my bass is the first thing I grab, as it's the closest I have to a weapon in my room.

You should go and investigate, since that hasn't ended badly for anyone ever in these horror like circumstances. Right?

But if you do decide to go check around the house, bring a big knife and a bat or other blunt object if you've got one. Get all combat stance ready and maybe an iPod to play some kickass rock music.
