3D movies seem to be eveywhere now. This really annoys me because my plethora of eye problems makes any 3D effects useless, as they just make the screen nauseating to look at and extremely blurry and pixelly. But what I'm wondering is how do you guys like all the new 3D movies? Do you want more 3D or less?

I find that the 3D does nothing to contribute to the quality of the film, is a gimmicky way to get kids to want to go see films, and an easy way for them to gouge us a bit more (as if they needed another excuse).

Not a single film I've seen in 3D would have been any worse were it seen normally and the fact that 3D TVs are now being made troubles me greatly.

Frankly, I hope this 3D bulldink goes away forever, really soon.

I hate the gimmick of 3D, it seems to be trying to sneak into everything these days and it bugs the hell out of me seeing as it looks terrible most of the time, doesn't add anything, and until we can be holographically immersed in something, it's pointless.

I hate them because I feel like I have to watch movies in 3D if I'm given the option because I feel like I'm going to miss out on a huge part of the movie if I don't.

And all it ever does is give me a wicked headache by the end and make me feel super tired.

I wish they'd stop making movies in 3D.

It depends on the movie, but I dont really care much for 3D. its just a theatre's excuse to charge and extra $3-5 bucks for a movie. And god help you if its a disney movie.

As one of the many many people who wear glasses daily, 3D glasses are a massive pain in the arse. Not to mention the fact that they make the movie considerably darker, and the amount of half-arsed conversions lying around. It's a gimmick, and a good film shouldn't need a visual gimmick to gets its point across and be enjoyed.

I don't really know. The last 3d movie I saw was like 15 years ago at an Imax, and I had to take the glasses off when they gave me a headache. I've heard that the technology is better now, but I haven't seen any new ones to have an opinion either way. Seems a little gimmicky, though.

The options weren't very comprehensive. I like the idea of 3-d movies. A lot of action movies can make great use of the technology to intensify our movie going experience. I mean, most people want the holodeck, right? This is just one step in that direction.

However there are obvious concerns about movies that don't need to be 3-d and are just trying to rake in a quick buck.

If done well fantastic[sub]Refer to Avatar[/sub] however needs to be improved on and stop being over-used by film makers.

post-conversions can die in the deepest, darkest, most sulfury pit of hell.

Films shot in 3d can live... for now.

Never seen one. It does seem like a waste of money though, compared to what it adds.

Think about it, I bought PREDATOR on DVD, blue ray came out and so another copy of it was in order, I am NOT getting the same movie 3 times in a row. In the movie theater, they give me headaches, in the living room, they are pointless.

meh, I Ndon't care about them anyway, I already wear glasses so I have to make do with crappy vision for the movie or the 3D becomes too much for me. Only ever seen 2 3D movies though, one being back when it was used a gimmick to try and pump life back into failing franchises, and Tron: Legacy...

oh, wait.

Hot Damn, I hate 3-D movies. I seem to be the only one of the people I know who sees them for what they are, GIMMICKS!
3-d was initially introduced after the advent of TV in the fiftes (or so) as a way to get people back to theaters. And now, with HD sets rivaling, perhaps surpassing, the video quality of theaters, the cine is having this problem again. They need audiences to come back to the theater. The geniuses over in Hollywood are just doing what they think will work,3-d. To be fair, it is working, but that says more about society than their genius (or lack there of)
And don't even get me started on 3d tvs, I feel sorry for anyone who has dropped so fat a wad on something that will, as all gimmicks, fade away.

I don't generally like them. 3D seems like a substitute for good writing. Example of this? Clash of the Titans remake. Was hilariously bad and was clearly just made to show off 3D.

I've heard that if they are made specifically to be 3D that they turn out well but a lot of them are made and then ran through a converter that makes it 3D much more quickly. I've never seen one that wasn't cheaply converted and screwy looking
