With the exception of Avatar i've never seen a movie where 3D enhanced anything. Usually it makes it worse.

I went and saw 'How to Train Your Dragon' in 3D for a friend's birthday and it was absolute rubbish as a 3D movie. I had seen the movie in 2D on opening day, so when I noticed only TWO SCENES that visually stood out as '3D', I had felt like I and my friends had been robbed.

Overall, this 3D crap really needs to stop. It does nothing for advancing the storylines, so what the hell?

Once my eyes have adjusted to the 3D I kind of stop noticing the difference. But maybe thats just me.
But yes it seems to me that it is just a gimmick it doesn't really improve the experience. Besides having movies come out exclusively in 3D would be bad for business, it really screws with alot of peoples eyes.

I cant tell the difference because of some problem with my eyes. I still have to wear the stupid glasses though or it looks blurry.

I have only seen one movie in 3D (the latest Narnia) and I barely noticed any difference to 2D so I don't hate it, but I also don't see any point in doing it.

3D movies seem to be eveywhere now. This really annoys me because my plethora of eye problems makes any 3D effects useless, as they just make the screen nauseating to look at and extremely blurry and pixelly. But what I'm wondering is how do you guys like all the new 3D movies? Do you want more 3D or less?
Being that I can only see out of 1 of my eyes...I'd have to say I'm indifferent, I can't even see in 3D in real life, so I certainly can't watch 3D movies.

Think about it, I bought PREDATOR on DVD, blue ray came out and so another copy of it was in order, I am NOT getting the same movie 3 times in a row. In the movie theater, they give me headaches, in the living room, they are pointless.
A picture says a thousand words that I agree with. 3D can go off somewhere and die.

If the Green Hornet was any indication of what we're in for, expect more trite and bland movies whose only selling points are the spectacular 3D effects for the end credits. :D

I don't really have a problem with it, Some movies use it well others not so, when it is done well it can add to the experience but when done badly it can really kill the experience.

If I have any real grudge against it is the additional cost on top of using my cine world card even when I already have the glasses, and doubly so when there is yet an additional cost for orange wednesday, what part of 241 can be translated so ok one ticket paid with additional cost ok now here is your free ticket (I know it is not technically but what ever) now for your additional cost.

I think 3D gaming may have potential but I cannot stand 3D cinema at all. It just hurts my head and looks shite

I hate 3D movies and I really don't get how it's supposed to draw me in because if anything I'm too busy noticing how out of place everything is in every shot.

They all need to die in a fire.

ITT: I want to be a hipster and hate new things. 3D makes you a lot more immersed in the movie and really enhances the experience.

The bad thing is that most 3D movies have been shit, Inception would've been fucking amazing in 3D

i dont like when they use 3d as some gimmick thing where every 5 mins they are throwing something at the crowd.

if you make a movie in 3d just make it in 3d for immersion not so you can try to hit people in the face with balls and fists.

3D is great... IF IT'S USED PROPERLY.

for example, The Last Airbender did NOT need to be in 3D, and was worse off for it.

on the other side, How To Train Your Dragon was AMAZING in 3D.

if used properly, 3D can make a movie much more immersive...

that's why I'l definatly be seeing Star Wars in 3D. it's ILM, they'll develop some new way to convert films to 3D FLAWLESSLY.

if it's just tacked on for an extra $2, then 3D usually sucks. but if it's an integral part of the movie (How To Train Your Dragon, Avatar, MegaMind, etc.) it can look really friggin cool

People seriously need to stop bitching about 3D movies and games, NO ONE IS MAKING YOU WATCH THEM!

There are currently only a handful of movies and games available for home viewing in stereoscopic 3D. Also there are NO movies or games ONLY available to view in 3D. So you idiots who are complaining need to shut up and enjoy your 2D media, because 3D is not out to get you!

It's simply a way to further more immerse the viewer into the world of whatever media they're watching. Besides, it's far too early now to judge the technology since it's only recently gained popularity (thanks to Avatar). It will get better and more accessible. The current goal for the makers of 3D is to make it disappear... no seriously, you think they want you to notice the BAD differences it can make? They want the effects to fade into the background and enhance your viewing subconsciously. The goal is to make it feel more natural and lifelike and make the experience more immersive.

If you notice something that's "off" while viewing 3D media that makes you think about it or annoys you, then someone is either not doing their job right or the technology has some problems it needs to fix. For the most part though, if there's good 3D effects implemented, then the average viewer stops noticing the 3D and is freed to enjoy the movie in a way that would otherwise be impossible.

When any new technology is introduced, it can feel "gimmicky", but just like the touch screen, it'll eventually catch on and be accepted by the general public.

If you really feel completely indifferent to the idea of 3D then just avoid it, it's not that hard. In fact, if you want something in 3D you have to usually either spend more money on it or go out of your way to attain it. So at this point it's actually DIFFICULT to get 3D anything (except movies and 3DS, but they're both expensive and they can both be viewed in 2D easily).

So please people, stop being ignorant and either wait til it's more evolved or just ignore it, cause bitching about it is simply unwanted negativity.

Personally I think 3D movies look blurry as hell for the most part, but Jackass 3D was well worth the price of admission.

I do not like them. They hurt my eyes.
Although my local cinema is hardly state of the art...
