Poll: Thoughts on Death Metal.....

Post your thought on Death Metal here, I like it because of its technical skill, the vocals are fun, but I can only stand them for a certain amount of time (More than Screamo though).

Admittedly, most death metal I listen to is melo-death. I'll listen to plain death if I get to hear awesome guitar solos though.

Some of it is awesome, others just get on my nerves.

I mostly like Melodic Death Metal bands like Equilibrium, Serpent, Ensiferum, Children of Bodom, and Lost Eden

I dunno about DEATH metal, but just metal in general is just awesome. I'm not a fan of screamo much, but some death metal is fine. The stuff on rockband 2 is not all that great. The chorus to Shoulder to the Plow is the only good part, and I'll get sick of it pretty quickly. Souljia boy screamo version is great though =D
Older metal bands, like Sabbath, Maiden, Metallica, Judas Priest, etc, remain some of the best bands in history by far.

Firstly, there's alot of bad Death Metal around. Bands that seem to think Death Metal = making noise (and of course the fans that think incomprehensible = better). But, that said, Death Metal contains some of the best displays of pure musical ability available. Particularly in the case of drums, which are used as instruments rather than the glorified metronomes they seem to be in so many other genres.

Let's see. Any idiot with half a brain and knows two notes on a guitar and can just scream can make death metal. So yeah, I think that portrays my feelings on that subject.

The only band I give any credit to is Mudvayne, but that is because they actually have a little thing called talent.

I'm not really a fan, but then I'm not big on any metal past the 70s and 80s. It could be that I just haven't been listening to the right stuff, but I think it's a lot more likely that the genre just doesn't appeal to my tastes.

I like it until it gets to the point where on the drums all you can hear is the double bass, the guitarists have no idea what they are playing, and the vocalist just does a low pitched growl the whole song.

Listening to them is (perhaps ironically) the closest I have come to musical heaven.

I love Death Metal for its instrumental Side, there aren't too many Death Metal vocalists i really like.
Though some bands like Cannibal Corpse and Opeth (i suppose the 2nd bands genre is open to opinion) have great vocalists. Gotta' love some Hammer Smashed Face in the morning

I hate it. most of the time the music is good but the vocals are just terrible.
I listen to post-hardcore and metalcore/screamo more than death metal.
