Death metal is too incestuous to me. It's like every one tries to play like Death(the band) and dont really branch out.

Gotta love those death growls.

The more gutteral and noisy the better.

If it makes people cover thier ears and go 'aaah turn it off', chances are I'll be loving it.

Nothing like driving past a group of old people with Whitechapel cranked up.

Granted, I put it's complicated because there are some bands I haven't been able to get into or haven't had a chance to give a listen. Some of the bands you guys have mentioned I haven't heard of. But now, I'm starting to think I should have put up yes.

I like Melodic, Symphonic, some Progressive, Some Blackened and some plain Death Metal
The rest of it, no. Not at all. And bands like Torsofuck are just wrong.

I see alot of people recommend alot of great bands here. Always gets my hopes up for humanity. Edge of Sanity should be mentioned as well. Well maybe they've already been mentioned but I didn't bother checking all 9 pages of text.

Personally I think that the reason people have problems with growling is that it makes the vocal a rhythm section instead of a melodical one and "normal" folks aren't used to that. Eventually you'll learn. It's an acquired taste. Which means you should try it. Repeatedly.

HA! yes! Theres someone else out there who likes these guys. I'm glad that someone like Psychostick came up with "com-core" metal.

OT: All forms of metal are my favorite. Death metal included. If not for the talent involved, than at least for the amount of pure insanity and energy these bands bring to their music.

Some of it is quite good, but alot of it sounds generic and repetitive to me.

If I can understand what they are saying, and it's not just yelling a gutteral tone...yeah, it's alright. ( I therfor choose 'its complicated' )

I like lyrics though, and not struggling to understand the message.

But I'll always prefer Heavy metal to death metal.

No, just no. Death Metal is bad, why? Every Death Metal song I've heard sounds exactly the same as the last one, I cannot tell the difference between them.

Because pretty much all modern metal music sucks nuts and it fills you with rage?
