I probably wouldn't care, although it would open the door for me to insult their favorite game, so least there's possible immature fun there. :)

I'm counting down the days to a thread here declaring Bioshock Infinite to be the 'worst gaem EVAR'; even though I'm undoubtably going to enjoy it to the heavens and back.

Just like Dishonored, just like Bioshock, just like XCOM.

I don't see why it matters.

In most things to do with opinion I either think it doesn't really matter, or someone willing to take the other is not someone I would like to have on my side, because that would generally mean that they are against my values or just plain stupid.
I mean... they could be right but I don't want someone who proved me wrong on my side either, or me to go to their side in most cases.

I can't understand not-liking something that I like, but I hope they have good reasons for it other than "that's just how I feel."

Or hope that they don't make dumb arguments like: "Skyrim/Oblivion is better than Dark Souls because your character has slightly more background." And yes, I have met a person who thinks this.

Also, I've never understood the complaints of people who didn't like The Amazing Spider-Man.

I know alot of people that hate my favorite games, and honestly, I dont mind. Why, you say? because I like them as people. Their taste in gaming dosen't affect how I think of them

Happens with my best friend. He'll give examples of things he doesn't like and why he doesn't like them, which is perfectly fine. Then I'll usually just talk about things I loved in a game and give reasons. Pretty basic stuff. We usually share the same interests in games though so it doesn't happen a lot. He does realize that just because he doesn't like a game doesn't mean it's shit.

I wouldn't care? We all have different tastes and opinions, to cut ties with someone because they don't like what you like is pretty fucking shallow.

I bet there's lots of people that would argue, but filled in 'don't care' in this poll. because indifference is cool.
Well, I'm going to be honest, I would definitely argue. Because why not!

Avoiding the person is just madness, there's no excuse

I would try to argue with him, however if he gives reasonable points why he does not like the game i would accept it as his opinion and leave it at that. however if he is going around "omg this game sucks because ponies" then of course i would not let it go.
Actually we do discussion with friends about games like that, but since i got good friends it does not turn into shit-slinging.

Fuck, I could name my favorite video games and get that exact reaction.

Here's a list! Feel free to rage about it:

-Call of Duty Black Ops II (really any of them can go here)
-Battlefield 3
-Madden
-FIFA
-Mass Effect 3 ending
-Dragon Age 2

My reaction:

I suppose I would tell them why I think X is great but I really don't care all that much if they don't like the game. I forgive them; not everyone can be as awesome as I am.
You MONSTER! How could you leave X-com out of that, does our time together/sacrifice for your greater glory mean nothing to you?!

OT: My friends like different games from me. It happens, and we'll joke about how I play spreadsheets and the fact that they're graphics whores. And we still have fun, go figure...

I think this here is very much appropriate:

I'll probably pretend to not care, knowing deep in my heart that they are WRONG. And that's all I need to know.

Combination of option 1 and 2, for me. I would semi-jokingly argue with them at first, but I would never get angry or insist that I was "right" unless obviously being sarcastic. But really, I don't care - Very few of my friends have the same taste in games that I do, so we have disagreements on favorites and least favorites all the time. It doesn't matter.

I'd point out that taste doesn't equal quality, that people can like things that are shit and can hate things that are good, that if you like something it's not automatically good and that if you dislike something it's not automatically bad. I'd also point out that the games he likes seem like utter crap to me (most likely), but that I recognize that they might be paragons of their respective genres so I don't say they are crap, just that I don't like playing them.

EDIT: To clarify, I do recognize that some tings are objectively bad, due to low quality, bugs, flaws, etc. But I do my best to distinguish my personal tastes from what might be referred to as actual quality in an objective sense. The key words here are "do my best", since it's impossible to be 100% objective, but one should at least make an effort in that regard.

I'm a socially liberal atheist in the middle of the BB in a small town.

Someone not like a game...is kind of low on the list of things people are gonna burn me at the stake for.

I edited it a bit to clarify. Those are not (necessarily) my favorite games (though Madden and FIFA are pretty high on my list...YAH SPORTS!) but just a list of games that seem to get people going :)

Excellent! With this single fuck, I shall use it to beat the next person who says "Sport games are all the same you sheep! You're killing the industry by giving EA so much money!" to death! Yah!

XCOM was easily my favorite game of 2012. However, my list was just of games that seem to piss everyone off because...well...it's kind of fun to do that :p

And of course I care deeply for the men that were under my command. I would spend countless nights thinking about what I did and what I could have done differently. Gigastar's (repeated) death weights heavy on my heart. So many sleepless nights....and then finally, in the dead of night in the foxhole, you comforted me in the way that only someone with your gentle touch....wait...I've said too much already...

I wouldn't care! Mostly because my favorite game ever is Spyro the Dragon and nobody that is human dislikes Spyro the Dragon.
If you disagree with me you're wrong and should feel wrong.
[Note: The above is a joke]

But seriously I wouldn't really care.
