I would argue, i am a very argumentative person, some times I argue just for the sake of arguing, because arguing is fun. you learn so much about a person by the arguments they make while arguing. if you where to argue that this is stu........ok I'll stop saying argue but if you think my argument is stupid I'd be happy to argue about it.

all jokes aside. i will try and make one a debate out if it just for fun. it is an easy topic to talk about

I don't care if their opinions differ from mine. If people wish to discuss them amiably and sincerely, fine. But all to often I get dragged into snarky and sarcastic arguments that just turn me off completely. At which point, I'm done.

Like someone else said earlier, I've been ostracized for far less than videogames. Also, my taste in games could be called quite esoteric when put in comparison with my IRL friend's tastes. So naturally there is conflict. I usually just don't bring it up since I know it could spark a pointless argument.

Honestly I don't care if someone hates my opinion, or hates me for my opinion(s). It does bother me if they are misinformed about what they hate. I've been on this ride many many times. With my interest in the metal music genre, my dislike of team sports, and most recently my interest in MLP. If people want to disagree with me they should at least know what they hate.

I feel like I'm the person who usually ends up calling a videogame that someone else likes "garbage," so I don't really care if someone has a negative opinion on a game that I like. But then again, this only applies if I'm good friends with the person I'm talking to.

I would attempt, ATTEMPT, to have an intelligent and enlightened discussion (NOT ARGUMENT) about why they do or don't like that game where I'd point out many redeeming features of my preferred titles.

When did mass effect 3 ending become it's own game?

Also : i thought you were cool man .

OT: i like jrpgs . I'm immune to hate .
I just like listing things I like that piss people off. Besides, a lot of people said in the beginning that "if you stop at that spot before the ending, Mass Effect 3 was a great game" so a lot of people probably wish it was it's own game :)

As to thinking I was cool...don't let the pimp suit in my profile fool you, I am about as far from cool as one could be. If I became any less cool, there is a good chance that I would go super-nova and destroy the world.

I don't care what people like, that's up to them.
You can argue until the cows come home about certain topics, but still not change a damn thing.
Game preference is largely one of those topics.

I am a tad concerned when bad practices are encouraged by large-scale consumer ignorance, though.
But that's not me being angry over or disagreeing with someone's opinion, it's getting frustrated over a company continuously exploiting them and making it a business trend. If they recognize this and say, for example, that they hate *despicable publisher* but they've released a product that tickles their fancy...

I say what a shame, and we lament over the tragedy.

I have to admit, I don't understand the "I don't care" option. I know it's appealingly bad ass to appear as though you are forever above the fray, but why the fuck are you on a gaming forum discussing games if you genuinely "do not care" about the opinions or input of others? I can understand not letting it ruin your day or work you into a lather. But surely you care enough to TALK about it. Otherwise why enter the conversation in the first place?
I don't think most people are reading it that way. I'd wager that most of the people who clicked that option would happily engage in a discussion about the game but, ultimately, it will not affect their opinion on either the game or the person.

I understand what you mean, I just don't think that many others are interpreting it the same way.

Of course I'm not 183 people, so I could just be talking out of my ass :p

I have my preferences, they have theirs. And that's what makes discussing entertainment so much fun! The only people that really irritate me are the people who either (a) attack people who like it, or (b) people who use the "objectively bad" card as an end-all argument. I struggle to think of the last time somebody used that argument and it didn't become a retarded and very circular flame-war.

Eh, I wouldn't argue with them but I'd certainly discuss it with them. If they're my friend and they hate something that is my favorite thing then why they hate it is important information to have when considering what games I'd recommend to them in the future.

But not only that, I have had similar discussions with friends and have found a misconception they had that changed their opinion to give it another shot. Because of taking that effort, they suddenly had a new IP to explore.

Either way, if they hate it for legitimately subjective/objective reasons or just hate it because they're like that, that's their prerogative.
