Poll: Too much MW2 hate?

Ok, so as most people have noticed, here on the escapist, a lot of people have been calling out Infinity Ward for its apparent wrong doings in the case of Modern Warfare 2.

Seriously, over the past few weeks, the amount of threads concerning people discussing their new found hatred for the game is rather surprising, to me at least.

I just want to see if people think this influx of hate is justified or not.

Perhaps it is justified, I'll always prefer the dedicated server system. Keep matchmaking and stuff like that for games like Left 4 Dead with only a few players. It's fun to play with your friends but it's also sometimes more fun to play against your enemies.

The game costs WAY to much when it doesn't even offer HALF the options Modern Warfare 1 had.

Does it deserve the hate? Yes. Does it need more hate? Yes. Should we kick IW in the balls and call it a day? FUCK YES!

it's only the pc gamers that are complaining as far as i know. i can't relate because i'm getting it on 360, but i can see why they're pissed off.

Personally, i think anyone who buys this game on the PC is a complete idiot.

or they jsut could care less about what IW is doing the game and just want to enjoy it.

9v9 matches is a good limit cause the 60 person matches in MW1 was a bit hetic imo.

Maybe if Activision just left their dicking around with the British price hike the hate wouldn't be justified, but they're like a playground bully. Every week they announce a new part of the game that completely screws over everything we expected. They just keep coming with it.

I'm British, and I'm also a PC Gamer. I have plenty of reason to be annoyed at Activision and Infinity Ward right now (though I suspect Activision have a lot more to do with it than IW do) But I'm staying out of the complaint threads, seeing as I'd already decided to not buy MW2 anyway.

Considering how much they are screwing PC owners over with all this shit, I'm surprised there hasn't been more... The series start on PC and they are moving it more towards consoles... plus it is FPS... mouse > analog sticks...

Its just the way IW seem to be dicking over us PC gamers for no other reason than to port the conole verson directly over to the PC, making as few changes as possible, and hiding behind the excuse of balancing the game.

They keep saying that they and only they know best.

No dedicated servers? Check, jaw loosening up.
No console? Check, jaw dropping wide open.
9v9 max players on any map? Check, blood pressure rising.
No modding what-so-ever? Check, eyes beginning to red.
No ability to kick players during the game, at all? Check, blood vessels bursting.
No ability to choose the hosting player? Check, hands involuntarily clenching.
The difference between the console version and the PC version: Text chat, ability to use mouse and ability to tweak graphics (All three of which have been considered the bare minimum for close to 15 years...)? Check. GYAAARGH!

So yes, it is justified and deserves the hate it gets. Adding these features would not have been that large of a job, even just dedicated servers would have made the whole things more friendly to us PC gamers. But no.

This is like advertising an RTS by saying 'you can control units, preorder now!', or that the latest FPS 'will have guns, isn't that great and unique?'. At first it makes us laugh our arses off when we think 'good joke man, good joke', then jaws drop as we understand that 'hey, these guys are serious' and then the rage begins to mount as we realize that this is supposed to be a finished and polished sequel to a good FPS we liked and that they actually want us to pay for this half-finished crap.

Heck no.
