120-140 words per minute says "yes." It's second nature when you work with documentation as often as I do.

I learned it from a keyboarding class I had in 8th grade. Most useful thing I've ever learned in school.

I'm touch typing this but I am moderately faster in situations where I don't have to be looking up and can have a little glance at the keyboard between words. I have to force myself to not look down so its just abit weird. When I'm typing normally I look down for about the first word of a sentence to see that my hands are in the correct position. I'm just having fun forcing myself to touchtype now.

Backspace count = 6

Somewhat. I can write in the dark pretty good, and that means that I can't see any of the letters. But there are cases when I have to look.

I suppose I can touch type, but not like the standardized style. I have used a computer for years, and so I just stopped looking at the keyboard one day. (though I do need to look when searching for certain symbols, such as the ones you get while holding the shift key and pressing the numbered keys.)

I don't touch type per se, but I can type without looking at the keyboard. I just don't keep my fingers in the same place.

I can touch type, but I have look down at the start of a paragraph to make sure my hands are in the right spot, since I don't use the home keys. But yeah, plenty of computer classes in school have done this for me :).

I can touch type on both a laptop and a regular keyboard without any sort of problem. I used to play wow on a laptop and a desktop for years. MMO's really develop speed typing abilities.

Yup, but usually I will just look at the keyboard anyway, not a clue why. Besides, I just managed to type all of that with 2 mistakes, so yeah, I can definitely touch type.

Yes. Started a class a bit after it begun (was put in special ed for some reason, thankfully pulled out, dear science the teacher's a *****) and quickly exceeded everyone else there.

I'm 26 and can't do it properly, to be honest, and I don't think I care that much. But I think that may be a useful skill to have.

yes, I force myself to.

It's actually pretty crazy, I spell much better when I don't look at the keyboard.

Yeah, and I took me the better half of a year to perfect it, but it was worth it.

Unfortunately, I get itchy when I see people who still have to look down at their controllers when they play games. ("What the fuck, man? The D-pad is on the left, the buttons on the right. It's been like that since the dawn of fucking time! Are you seriously that retarded?")

Yup :) I have loads of practice since I'm online 24/7. I tend to freak my mom out by making eye contact and typing while she's talking to me. I can also type pretty fast with only my right hand! I'm just really lazy and since I use my computer while I'm in bed sometimes I lay on my side and type that way. D'no when it started but my friends say I'm scarily good at it. It's actually not a whole lot slower than two-handed, provided I don't mess up :p

Uh... I d'no how I got good at one-handed but regular touch type came from a middle school class. Practice makes perfect, I s'pose!
