it depends on what you like in a game. the xbox360 and the ps3 both have their cons and pros so it depends on what your into. i hope you make a good choice.

And I still hate 2K for giving you illegitimate console bastards Bioshock. I guess it would have been deemed too casual for the Gaming Master Race, anyway, so its console release was likely inevitable.
.....yeah I can see you are nothing like a megalomaniac[/sarcasm]. You're not too bright though so I am just going to end it here. No sense fighting in the battle of wits with someone who is unarmed...as my aunt would say.

PCs are not consoles. You cannot include a PC into a console war. If you did, then almost every game is a non-exclusive as any game can be ported to the PC. However, only Microsoft has games that are both on the PC and on the console. When do you see Sony making PC games?

It's odd how people, and I am speaking mostly towards the PS3 fanboys, who sit here and include PC games into the argument in terms of "exclusive," but then don't include the PC itself in the console war.

So let me ask everyone, do you include the PC in the console war or do you not? If you do then the PC is the most superior console in the console war. If you do not, then you cannot count PC games into the argument when referring to "exclusives." That is like saying you include the games, but the console it plays on.

You can't have it both ways.

In my opinion, the PC isn't part of the retarded "console wars", but an alternative to it. It's like some kind of utopian alternative to a warring civilisation (and I use that term loosely in regards to fanboys).

Hmm In my mind if I can play something on more than one platform it's not exclusive. This is why if a game is also available on the PC they don't profess that it's 'only' on said system on the box it has nothing to do with some weird 'rules of engagement' in a product war. At any rate the console wars is stupid and I'll just take the piss out of all three sides.

I may actually also be doing this. I want Blu-ray, free online and I want Little Big Planet. What else could one need?

Wow.... lots of flame bait here... I guess I shouldn't be surprised by the PS3 fanboyism given the nature of this thread.

OP: You have a 360, you know about the community, Live, the games it has and probably the games it will have. If this is starting to bore you, by all means get a PS3 instead. If you have access to a PC that will play some upcoming 360 titles you're interested in, by all means get a PS3 instead. If you have enough time to dedicate to both systems, get both.

I don't have a lot of time to play games, and I got a 360 because it came out first, but I never regret my choice even after having to get two new systems because the gaming experience for me is unparalleled. I have my own Blu-Ray player, and I don't game on PC. I've thoroughly enjoyed titles like Gears, Halo, Fable, Fallout, Bioshock, Oblivion, Mass Effect, Saints Row 2 and others.

My problems with the PS3 are twofold. First of all, I hate the new controllers, and that's odd since I liked the PS2 ones. I think they just dropped the ball there. Secondly I had a problem with the price, but by the time they dropped it I had no reason to get one anymore.

The PS3 is starting to come into it's own now with several quality titles lined up. I'm certainly going to be bothering my PS3 owning friends when titles like Heavy Rain come out. But it's not like the 360 is just going to ride off into the sunset. Mass Effect 2, Splinter Cell Conviction, Crackdown 2 and more are coming and are 360 exclusive.

Just do some digging on IGN or whatever and get a good look at the exclusive titles for each system, and see what interests you more. If you have a good TV / Audio setup, a PS3 will offer you a slight edge over the 360, but we all know that's not what makes a gaming experience great. If you don't already have a Blu-Ray player and are looking to get one this could save you money as well.

I supppose ultimately your decision should come down to whether or not you are interested in the upcoming 360 exclusives.

in the 360s defence, summer has no new games out, and a new console means automatically 30-50 new games to play, im biting my nails over boarderlands
Good point, good point, most games I own for my 360 I've already finished. But I must say, for upcoming exclusives I prefer the PS3 list. The Last Guardian, Heavy Rain, Uncharted 2, God of War 3, they're all PS3 exclusives I can't wait to play. As for the 360...well, can't think of much. ODST doesn't really appeal to me (I own the 3 previous Halo games, but I wanted ODST to be a little more different), and I can't think of much else, maybe I've missed something. But the PS3 has another significant advantage for me: free online play. I sadly can't afford the monthly cost of XBL Gold (I live on a tight budget) and that really decreases the playtime for a lot of games, like Halo and Gears of War.
frees always good, if the console itself wasnt so damned expensive id get it.

wth is all this talk of exclusives??? we need to keep in mind that the xbox was made by MICROSOFT!!! that means that most of their games will be exclusive to the xbox/pc

For all the people who complain about "annoying 10 year olds" on Live, NO ONE IS FORCING YOU TO LISTEN. Mute them. Make a private party with your friends so you can talk alone, like I do every single time I play. (I kid you not, every single time I play 360, I get in a party with friends.)
believe it or not, i find the party system to be more annoying than the 10 year olds

for one its fun to tell them their adopted, offer proof that you pull out of your ass, and watch them go off and cry.

but mainly its all the silent games, you notice that there is NO in game communication since the party system emerged??

Sony fanboy here.

If you want better graphics, reliability (If you get the 60GB), free online and more potentially brilliant games, PS3.

If you want better choice of games, mildly better online, more buddies to play with online and a solid line up of potential games, 360.

(Sorry about the double post)

keep your 360 and get a PS3 too. that way u can still play with ur freinds on XBL.
There are no friends on the PS3 (Not for me anyway).
Unlucky. A few of my friends are on PSN, but most have X-box 360's. I don't really play online anyway so it doesn't bother me.

From what I have heard in the Thread, everyone is to preoccupied with it being my decision. I am aware that it is my decision. I was just looking for some outside input. Some further knowledge before making a decision.
On the grounds of own in both I can't see the point. There is not enough exclusives on either system to me to justify owning both. I was also looking at the games and the Xbox exclusives, i think I could live without.
Recently MAG has won me over, and the amount of money I dish out to Xbox is absolutely painful. (not to mention the mental strain when talking to their customer support when my xbox breaks every other month)
So yeah, I was just looking for some outside suggestions from anyone who cares to drop a line.
I have read every post so far and I am very happy with what people have been writing.
Thanks everyone.

You have to decide for yourself which one want more. If you like both equally, DO NOT sell your 360, just hold out for a PS3 later.

If you haven't played the PS3 before, don' get it until you're sure that you'll like it.
