As stated earlier, always drink water before you go to bed and keep a bottle near you'r bed.
As for hangover,I usually go with some painkiller and a big amount of green tea.

This, but always make sure you do it BEFORE sleeping. Waking up in a pool of your own sick isn't fun.

Also water, lots of it before bed and as soon as you wake up.
Then eat something with lots of protein. I recommend crisps (potato chips) dipped in humous.

I don't really get hangovers but I drink water and rest to try and get rid of the heavy stomach.

A couple of smoked bacon sandwiches and a litre or so of water usually sets me straight.

Then again I usually knock back a few pints of water quickly when I'm leaving the pub/club/dive bar of my choice for that evening.

A hangover is mostly just dehydration. Drink two pints of water before you go to sleep.

If you have a hangover the best cure is a fry up and and large chocolate milkshake.

I don't drink, and while I love to cook I refuse to help someone get rid of a hangover (unless I think they are a generally good person, just with a tendency to get drunk occassionally) in which case I help by being quiet and taking their minds off things with humour or food/drink.

EDIT: Oh yeah, orange juice (the good stuff) tends to work well with a hearty breakfast to take the edge off any queasy stomachs.

The 'hair of the dog' [another drink in the morning] method apparently has a scientific basis. Something about alcohol in the morning neutralising the substance that last night's alcohol got turned into.

Methanol breaking down formaldehyde, or something. Damn, I'm supposed to know science stuff..

Personally, I usually eat a big omelette with oatmeal and cheese and drink lots of herbal tea and water.

Drinking always gives me a headache for about 2-3 days. Funny thing, I can hit my head at the place it hurts and the pain goes away for some time.

Bah, too busy drinking alcohol to drink water.

I just stay in, relax back, drink a lot of water and pop some paracetamol.

Definitely, but I was talking about the morning after. There was one camping trip with my mates where I started drinking at noon on saturday and didn't stop till about 3am on Sunday. When I woke up (around 10am) I was really, really, really hung over. When I threw up, I felt a lot better. The only thing in my stomach was alcohol and that was all that came up. I felt a lot better.

Mind you I think I got a bit of food poisoning as well, cause I was feeling sick for a week afterward, and I just don't get hangovers for that long. Hell of a weekend though.
