I hated Halo 3, ODST, and Wars. (Though I know the latter was not Bungie's fault.)

But I loved CE, 2, and the Reach Beta.

Everyone I know calls Halo "Gaylo" (yes, I know some very mature people). So... probably not. I see Black Ops and Modern Warfare 2 kind of sharing it to be honest, because there are a lot of people that don't like Treyarch either.

A technical question, are the MW2 pre orders being counted for all platforms or just Xbox 360? Since Reach is 360 Exclusive and MW2 isn't...it would make things a bit starker in comparison.

It would be tough to beat MW2 only because it is multiplatform while Reach is not. A large chunk of the 360 install base would have to come in force in order to beat MW2.

However, Reach will beat it in both quality and content. That much is sure.

EDIT: Whoops, didn't see the 360 part. In that case yes, that is very possible. In fact I would be surprised if it didn't.

In fact, it didn't sell more than Halo 3 or even Halo 2 for that matter.

Yes, it will. Sadly whenever a new CoD game is released 9999999 "gamers" will all jizz all over it, which is a shame because Halo is actually a hell of a lot better.

To be fair the campain was okay, (I liked the soundtrack and the whole loneliness feelas the rookie, sadly the cool ambient feeling didn't last very long) Firefight was pretty lame though. All in all it was a pretty good deal for me since I got an easy Achievment game, and all the DLC I was to lazy to ever buy =P

sadly bad company 2 took te job and killed it, since mr. halo got a bit giddy at the beta party. kindly BC2 left some more MW2 on the 360 for mr. halo to finish off

Even more sadly, when Bad Company 2 was about to deliver its final blow it tripped and its frostbite engine threw dust in its eyes and it got attacked by medal of honor eating out its engine.

I'm not sure if we can bet on it but it is looking pretty positive by this point. It would be nice to see Halo have a big finally and surely beating Modern Warfare 2 in terms of the number of pre-orders would be pretty cool.

I myself am one of those people who pre-ordered the Legendary Edition and I did it ages ago.

I hope so. First the game is looking good, secondly it has an engine change (something that was needed dearly) and thirdly it is more Halo-y goodness. Maybe I'm just bitter that I bought into the hype of MW2, and it wasn't even fun for what it was intended for (being a huge douche online), but the Halos have always been fun, even three (my least favorite of the series) is still a million times better than MW2.

SO, here's to Bungie, and 343 Studios. Bungie made a great game, and 343 is going to pick it up and hopefully make it even better

I had some rant here about how much I hate Call of Duty, but I realized it was irrelevant and removed it prior to posting.

*ahem* Anyway, it's hard to downplay what is considered by many to be the Xbox's biggest game ever. The ads claim that it's the most anticipated game of 2010. Of course, that's debatable, but the Halo fanbase is extremely large and we all know that at least 90% of them will buy it day one.

I know I will. With my awesome Recon helmet that gets over 900 channels on Dish network while being on fire.
