Well I'm not the biggest Halo Fan (Do have a soft spot for ODST though) but I really hate the COD games. So I suppose the enemy of my enemy is my friend?

It's similar to how I have a soft spot for Majora's Mask, even though Ocarina of Time is objectively the better game.

A lot of my friends are gamers, a lot of people on this site are gamers, most of the people I play videogames online with are gamers. So what are you saying exactly? You should calm down. It's perfectly true the the most recent CoD games (particularly their multiplayer) have strong appeal among less intelligent demographics. This doesn't say anything negative about all the people who play CoD games, only that a component of their popularity is an objectively idiotic portion of their fanbase.

The same could (and should) be said of Halo, and that's coming from the guy with what is probably the nerdiest Halo-related avatar on this site.

Sorry I just get pissed off when that guy and other idiots like him troll every thread that mentions MW2 or Halo and instantly start spouting off about how bad both games are and how everyone that likes them are retarded. On topic, Halo Reach will out preorder MW2 simply because the most popular time to preorder is generally a month or so from launch. Not surprising that Halo managed this level of sales though. Halo has been one of the most heavily respected FPS franchises ever, well maybe not respected considering the mouths of some people here. Certainly well received by gamers and critics alike though.

I hope it exceeds MW2. Don't get me wrong, I like MW2, but this is Halo. Love it or hate it, you have to respect it for putting the Xbox on the map.
What with this also supposedly being Bungie's last Halo game, I get the feeling that they're giving this one everything they have and more.

I hope it makes people forget about MW2 lol... But I don't think it will beat MW2, unless you are only counting MW2 only on 360. Halo 3 was beaten by MW2 I think just because it was multi-platform and Halo 3 wasn't. Halo Reach will have TONS more re-playability and fun than MW2 due to 4 player co-op (still surprised COD has catched onto that), forge (that too), actual gametypes that are more than kill, defend or attack (this also lol)... Firefight (WAY better than Nazi Zombies and so is Firefight 2.0 with versus)

Hmm? I never said anything about majorities, only portions. People often assume too much from what others say, I for one try to say exactly what I mean. Portions can be any fraction from 1 to 0, if I had wanted to talk about fractions 1 to 0.5 I would have said "majority".

Nah, cod will slaughter it. See, what gamers apparently want is less new content and high effort gameplay, this new halo game looks to include many game tweakers (jetpacks, holograms etc) that will require some skill to use (as oppose to perks, which are automatic and make you win against new players). Maybe if bungie was to take Halo 3, remove all the good maps and add in grindy weapon unlocks it would have a chance.

On a less sarcastic note, I hope it does beat MW2 into the ground, and that it's so dominant that activision are forced to stop butchering the once great call of duty series in order to make it suceed. I doubt it will suceed to that degree, but I'd be surprised if it doesn't outsell MW2, it looks to be a far superior game.

Sports fanatics rarely spend all their spare time arguing that running is far better than swimming, and that it has more games that use it.
