Either Episode 3, an entirely new game, or an entirely new engine (that would be a complete shock and it would at best be an announcement that they're gonna start work on one, but with Source being as good as it is considering their size when they made it and the date it was released, I would LOVE to see what they could do with a brand new engine in the future).
The L4D The Passing DLC is something I DO want, but it's not nearly as big news as a new game or anything.
Personally I think the surprise is LIKELY to be (and I wouldn't mind at all if I was right) that they're further on with Portal 2 than previously expected, perhaps the announcement of a playable demo or something of the sort, shame it's too late to add that to your poll options though, and I doubt a lot of people would vote for it anyway.

Btw people, the letter from Valve never actually said that the surprise would have nothing to do with Portal 2, only that the original setup was cancelled and replaced with a surprise (which they actually referred to as a "Portal 2 Surprise"). Another likely candidate for the surprise could be announcing their recent Source games being released for the PS3 perhaps?

Well really there's no reason why not, the original problem with the Orange Box was that PS3 used OpenGL, although the engine has officially supported that since GoldSrc there was still a lot of issues, but with all their recent games being ported to Mac they're obviously perfected/fixed any issues that they had with OpenGL, and as such it would be a lot easier to port the games to the PS3 in-house.irishstormtrooper said:
All I know is that there are going to be some mad people if it's not Episode 3. That's where pretty much everyone jumps to when they hear that, and that's probably exactly what Valve has in mind. With the recent updates to Half-Life, I really don't see any other results.
