Right, well, seeing as how I just got what I can only call a spam PM for this, I feel I have to say something. I saw the thread and figured I'd stay out of it, but I have to say this isn't the first time this has been done. Do a search for the Escapist Election. There were two, and I was actually a candidate in the second one, but it fell apart.

I wanted this as a positive step in community spirit, and it worked to a point, if you prefer the elections and the outright hatred that happened then fair enough, if you actually read up on this thread you'll realise that we've actually been rather nice to each other, to the point that we've been having fun with political coups which would not have happened in the last elections.
You know, I've read the OP for this and the other thread of this whole election, and you make no mention of the other election. I wasn't trying to say that this shouldn't happen, I was saying that if you wanted ideas for things to do in this you could look at the other elections. So congratulations on exploding at me for trying to help, now I actually am annoyed at you. The only reason I posted was to warn people here in general about spam PMs and advertising the thread. I set this up for the newbies to get a fun little vote going on since the members that were part of the last voting have left or been banned, my aim was to do the tabloid style political news articles for fun as evident by the first page since I knew I wouldn't win.

The New leader of the newly named and formed Inquisition and Cookies Party, Claymorez was caught out today for apparently giving more then a bowl of cookies to people, even before the election is over! We go now to out correspondents on the forum, who have gathered some initial responses to this act.
"I understand people's concern. If I say something in the manifesto and do something else it undermines the confidence voters have placed in me and this is regrettable. However I want to assure voter's I remain committed to my manifesto. However I haven't done anything my manifesto says I wouldn't. My manifesto explains what I will do should I be elected, my actions prior to the election are simply done to validate our integrity to the voters. I personally don't see the other party's delivering on their promises or proof they can."
Claymorez finished the press stunt there and his colleague Chrono212 said he would give an official party press conference this evening.
