No war in the world is ever justified. Having said that, I do believe it was Einstein(?) who said, "as long as there are men, there will be wars."

War is too complex an issue to simply label it "good" or "bad", as is the case with most things in the world.

War is generally a bad thing. It results in a lot of lives being lost and a lot of time and money being wasted. Not to mention that a lot of innocent people on both sides are very negatively affected, especially whichever side(s) have their cities bombed out and all their homes and businesses destroyed.

War is only useful when you have a dangerous enemy that can't be reasoned with. This is why I support military action against radical Islamic terrorists. (However, I do not support 'The War on Terror', nor do I support the war in Iraq. Yes, there is a distinction).

You love war? Have you ever been in war? Have your friends/parents/people you know died in a war that you fought? If no, then you can't love it, if yes, then your a moron.
Of course it's bad, people die, economy fails e.t.c. The only thing good about it is that the world will be less crowded.

"War is delightful to those who have had no experience of it." - Desiderius Erasmus

This quote couldn't be more true. And you, sir, are proof of this. I've studied World War One literature for over two years now and it's not pleasent at all. That's not to say that people go through the same immense physical and metal suffering that they did in World War One in all wars but war will never be a good, delightful, or happy thing. I can only assume you love war through the video games you play and films you've seen. Or maybe books (if so, then I'm curious to know which books you've read that portray war in a postitive light).

Is war good? No.
Is it justifiable? Sometimes.
Is war bad? War is murder.

i love this its so funny its either when somebody says something and it gets chalenged or they are losing an arguement they resort to saying that you are getting mad and it was a joke

..............????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,,,,,,,,, and there is some grammar for you happy?
No, you are totally wrong. You sound like a fucking idiot. I'm not arguing with you because it isn't nice to pick on challenged kids. Try some common sense mate, sure I can't sell sarcasm over the internet but even a fresh faced high school kid can tell that my remark wasn't meant to be serious.

In fact, the only other person who seemed to take it seriously was a foreigner, who can be forgiven for not grasping everything in English.

There is no helping people like you, because you are so ignorant yet self righteous that you won't listen to a word I am saying.

So, I won't reply again, have fun arguing with yourself over absolutely nothing.
yes thank you for giving the people who read this an example of what i was talking about

good job
yay no more replying to this stupid thread...shit.
ok now no more.
take that

and ill do it again later
curses. well at least the rational guy won the argument.
I still think this thread is stupid.
I dont want to have a debate with a bunch of people who learned about WW2 through call of duty.
(I dont mean you lizards)
thank you? i guess

War's never good, but sometimes necessary.

"War is glorious to those who have not experienced it."

Sometimes war is necessary, it's human nature, and a nation needs a strong defense against those who would do it harm. Rolling over and dismantling one's military is an invitation to disaster unless everyone does it. Disarmament has to be done gradually, with arms limitation talks and things of that manner.

By the way, to the OP: the people who tend to love war tend to be the ones who have not fought in one, now I haven't been in war either, but I'm guessing with "student" as your listed occupation, that you might have studied a few things about war in school, or know some war vets. Oh well, you go and truly understand war, let me know when you lose your grin (that was an old American Civil War thing, vets would ask the new soldiers when they "lost their grin").

War always has good and bad outcomes.
For example the war on terror may be a big waste of money and men but you know we wouldn't have modern warfare.......I don't think it's worth it but there has been something good from the war.

How can you love war? I mean what is wrong with you. People get killed you know.

Peace beats war anytime.

That having said, in games, books, movies, et cetera, war does make for interesting storytelling whereas peace does not.
However, in real life war can go fuck itself.

BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD. NEVER GOOD. NEVER.

Seriously, you cannot justify such a blatant disregard for human life. While in personal situations, some people definetely deserve a slap or too, with major affairs, I'm definetely a pacifist.
