While I love 40k, I'm not a fan of MMOs. So yeah, I'll be praising the Emprah over there, in a less massively multiplayer game.

If, in four years time, Dark Milleniumhas been released several years and shown steady growth through that period and continued to be regularly updated and added to, it'll have the beginnings of a claim to being the WoW killer.

At present it's nothing, it's an unreleased piece of vaporeware that over four years after announcement is still only a short trailer and a release date rumoured to be another three years away.

The formbook says it's not even a whisper in Blizzard's dreams, it's got along way to go to be even an Age of Reckoning equal.

Only the lack of poop quests in Cataclysm content can kill WoW. I quit partly because of that. That and I really liked the people I raided with until I actually went on vacation to meet them in person and found out they were terrible people.

nope, not a WoW killer. I hope it does better than the Warhammer Fantasy game did though.
That game was handled poorly by all involved with its development.

Cant wait to get my chainsword on and smack some Orks around.

Am I the only one who burst out laughing when reading the thread title?

Intriguing as the game might be (granted, I have no interest in or desire to play Warhammer), would FPS mechanics really hold up in an MMO? The only other examples I can think of are Tabula Rasa and Fallen Earth, the former shutting down a little after a year.

Nothing can ever kill WoW. I'm actually not sure if Blizzard themselves could. That said, this may not be the elusive WoW killer, but it still looks like a mighty fine game. Riding a big bad motorcycle with a chainsword in one and a bolter in the other sounds like fun.

I can 100% guarantee you it will not, but that won't stop the legion of Warhammer fans and the legion of people who hate WoW for no reason from hailing it as such.

No option for, I hate wow, but warhammer is even sillier. My money is on the new starwars killing both of those.

When it comes down to it I prefer Warhammer and War40K over warcraft and starcraft.

But any MMO going up against WoW is like a retarded cave man trying to take down a Death Star.

Yeah!

Yeah, like that hasn't already happened once with a little and easily forgotten MMO called War: Age of Reckoning...lol

The Law of Averages demand that eventually, the Caveman will win. But I know he will have spent several trillion respawns trying to get close to the Death Star.

"Despair, for I am the end of days"

If I can play as Chaos or Orcs I'm in.

It won't kill WoW though people have too much time spent in it to justify abandoning it. If you've spent hundreds of hours developing something you can't throw it away because that means that all those hours were pointless.

I worry it will get killed by the usual Space Marine players joining it though "lolol I R A Space Marine". (note I'm not suggesting that because you are a Marine player you act like that I'm am saying there are a lot of marine players like that due to them being the thing most rookies pick)

I'll be showing them the superiority of the Eight Fold Path one melted corpse at a time.

[sub]Assuming they actually get around to confirming Chaos[/sub]

Although I am a diehard Space Marine player, a sufficient lack of sacrifices to the Dark Gods will make for a boring game indeed. Leaving Chaos out would be like WoW suddenly removing the Horde: Everybody would hate it, including the Alliance seeing as they no longer would have a purpose.

The Ying must always have a Yang, and the Orks are an insufficient Yang.

Eh, Warhammer online couldn't do it, I doubt a 40k game will. Its even more niche than vanilla Warhammer, if thats even possible.

Brother! Do not hide your pride in The Dark Prince of Excess! Be proud and show off your depravity to those fools who bow down before a corpse in a golden chair!

I think you know what faction I want to be. :D

I think it's stupid to say that a new MMORPG could rival World of Warcraft. I'm not saying that I hope it doesn't, since I think I'd rather play DM than WoW, it's just that nothing can compete with WoW, it's an unstoppable Juggernaught of revenue.

That said... GIT TA STOMPIN', YA RUNTY GITS! ORKS IZ BEST! GET TO DA WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!

heh i always remember getting loads of people silencing me on Wow when I said "You ever notice how much Blizzard plagirises from Warhammer and Games Workshop in general?".
