I choose the Chaos Marine legion whose battle cry is still "For the Emperor!"
Good ol' Alpha Legion, sneaky bastards that they are.

A long time ago the Eldar ruled the galaxy, and they were massive dicks. They were pretty much all-powerful and their Gods protected them, so they just messed around all day doing what they did best, and what they did best was having massive orgies of sex, violence, and art. Things were all good and well for a while, but these centuries of depravity coalesced in the Warp, eventually causing the birth of the Chaos God Slaanesh, lord of Excess. Newborn Slaanesh was hungry, and claimed the souls of all Eldar for his breakfast. In time, most of the Eldar Gods were slain by the Chaos Gods (the C'tan had a hand in this as well, IIRC). Kaela Mensha Khaine was shattered, Isha was enslaved by Nurgle, etc. Unless I'm mistaken, only Cegorach escpaped, being the god of tricksters and all.dalek sec said:What exactly are the differences between Eldar and "Dark" Eldar? Well thank you very much for typing all that out, that really filled in a ton of blanks I had about both factions of the Eldar.Hurr Durr Derp said:Massive amount of info.
Once upon a time, the Eldar were undeclared masters of the galaxy. Then they grew bored. They began to create extraordinary works of art, but when you have a dozen Michelangelos, Bachs and Salvador Dalis living simultaneously and the lifespan of each eldar is measured in millenia, they quickly explored traditional art to all conclusions and grew bored again.dalek sec said:What exactly are the differences between Eldar and "Dark" Eldar? TBH just watch a couple of reviews about it, maybe some gameplay, and make a decision, for me it was a must-buy since i'm a big fan of Relics RTS'esOwlslayer said:No basebuilding? well that's not very funBigHandInSky said:Well its more focused on the squads themselves and a smaller battlefield in general, but overall its the same experience with more complexity [wargear-wise] and no base buildingOwlslayer said:Didn't know you could take him down so fast...but hey, that's why i chose chaos. The Prince has more hp and more damage too (at least i think he has).blackshark121 said:The problem with the Avatar is the fact that 150Owlslayer said:Also, i love duels against the eldar god-thingy, (avatar or something?) , the finishing moves with both of them are epic.flashlightlasgun shots will likely bring him down. My bro plays the imp guard, and he has learned to keep his squad of 50 conscripts in front of his tank. When the Avatar comes near, he uses a command for an extra shot, and my avatar falls. Drives me insane. Statistically, I should have one wound left after that barrage, but statistics are never precise.
Also, i when i played the game for the first time, i fell in love with the finishing moves, even casual solders can do them...and bosses against commanders, etc... soooo awesome. Gotta love warhammer 40, 000.
But I have never played warhammer 2, is it much better , anyone ?
EDIT: and finishing moves are still there, although i miss them a lot because i don't use that many melee units
Tough i do like to sound of complexity. But wow, i posted on this thread a long time a go. Did not expect someone to be quoted from a post this old.
Anyways, i still love warhammer, it is a great game.
I always go with my gut instinct, because otherwise I might be winning (or doing well it whatever I do (not just Warhammer)), but I'll have regrets and I'll keep thinking over what I REALLY wanted to doGloatingSwine said:For the love of god man why?.GrinningManiac said:Ogre Kingdoms
I mean sure an Ogre army looks great on the table, but their small unit sizes basically means everyone gets to unzip and piss on them when combat resolution comes around.
And for some reason, that's a ten times cooler battlecry than "Death to the false Emperor!"Marine Mike said:I choose the Chaos Marine legion whose battle cry is still "For the Emperor!"

Sir, will you join me in my hunt for our Fallen brethren?Neosage said:![]()
Nuff Said.
But yeah, the Dark Angels chapter of the space marines take shit from no-one, have a badass first-company and wear friggin' robes.
Ironically, if you're an instinct driven player, Ogres are really really not your army, because they require so much fiddling to get the flanking moves out of the nobblers (get that and the Ogres' tendency to be horribly outnumbered and lacking in ranks due to being massively expensive goes away).GrinningManiac said:I always go with my gut instinct, because otherwise I might be winning (or doing well it whatever I do (not just Warhammer)), but I'll have regrets and I'll keep thinking over what I REALLY wanted to doGloatingSwine said:For the love of god man why?.GrinningManiac said:Ogre Kingdoms

Also, the fact I go with "gut" instinct indicates my association with the stomach-driven kingdoms of the Ogres
Come now, you should know that every time anyone mentions the ***** Games Workshop disappears them.brucesea said:Redacted by Inquisition
