Rogue with magical back-up. Daggers and swords are fine, but combine them with fire and ice and you're fucking GOD!

I prefer Warrior because they don't sacrifice anything. They have good defense and good offense, unlike rogues and mages, who have sacrifice defense for a devastating offense.

Arcane warrior mage! Because I also love getting into the fray, and mages kick ass. If extra healing is needed, I can put the ass-kicking on hold for a couple seconds and heal up my group. YEAH!

Edit: The poll could use an arcane warrior option.

This poll clearly proves, that we are nothing but members of the vile pit of scum and wvillainy, whence all adventures begin.

I was playing dragon age origins and it got me thinking. What is the most common class and why in a fantasy RPG?

I always got for a warrior, sword and shield tank type because it's normaly a pretty simple role for my first play though. Then I move onto a Rogue, bow and arrow type because I have to most fun with them. The thing is I never play a mage as I like to get stuck in there (even if it's just a back up blade as a rogue) + I've just never found mages as a fun set up to play.

Yes, I know there are loads of classes I could put in the poll so I have summed it up a bit.
I personally play a combo of stabby-stabby and shooty-shooty rogues usually. Why play a warrior who's SUPPOSED to get hit, when I can just sneak around and kill things when they don't know what's going on?

Depends on the game, in Oblivion I always loved battling it out with a sword/shield, but in say, WoW, I was a fan of the Mage.

So many more rogue duel wielding types than I was expecting as most of my friends chose mages :/. Something I never touch.

Usually I either pick Rogue (if I can dual wield decent sized swords, screw daggers) or Warrior with 2H sword/axe. Screw maces and screw daggers (also shields).

I go mage, AoE spells etc in pretty much any RPG I play.
I just like casters, but I avoid healers like the plague because I can't stand using them. That an AoE mage is the only class I ever bothered to learn how to use properly (dam you WoW & DA:O !)
Theres something incredibly satisfying for me, sitting back and blowing my enemies up with power. Just thinking 'I'd like to see those guys overthere running around in flames' and then bang, they are.
Only problem? I can never carry enough plasters around to cover all those sword and axe related injuries I suffer...

Change that 'Rogue with two daggers' To just 'Melee rogue' And that's me.

I don't know why Rogues are always stuck with daggers - Assassin's should be.

Rogue with two swords ftw.

EDIT: Let me elaborate, I'm all RPG's I play as lightly armored scout character with a fancy sword who flanks his enemies.

Combat Rogue in WoW
Duelist in Dragon age.
Witchhunter in Warhammer
Barbarian in AoC
Smuggler in Star wars galaxies.

So yes, change the Option of two daggers to Melee rogue or Dual Wield Rogue

Or I will be very upset and write an angry letter -.-

I usually play a rogue or mage. Warriors are just too boring and not very complex. They have the least amount of moves and don't require much tactics.

Most rpgs I usually just go for a one handed sheild no secondary but that didnt seem like a smart move on this game. I would have went two handed but the swords seemed ridiculously large so I went sword and shield.

I usually go with the warrior class. It's a game based around the combat system. Trying to fight combat will just end badly. I usually move back and forth between sword/shield and duel wield. Though lately I've favored the two-handed.
